Runs fine on my wifes computer.
As in a wife who let's you play games, or a wife who plays games? Either way, Lucky man!

Anyways. I guess PC port games having inconsistent performance issue (especially at the launch) is pretty common, but I think it has to do with how many people are affected, and the devs attitude towards the situation. Let's not forget how Randy was making BL4 to the second coming of Jesus Crhist, hyping up as the greatest game ever made. And look where it got him

Her computer she plays on.

She tends to love the Borderlands series, so far 4 isn't doing it for her, too vertical which is just kinda annoying for an fps game. Also the Siren in this one is teenager type annoying.

Demo for the new game from the devs of Crosscode dropped

Will give this a go this weekend. Crosscode was my GOTY of 2019, so my expectations are very high.

TL;DR

A stage-4 cancer patient was streaming to raise funding for his treatment; He played a relatively unknown steam game, which had a malaware .bat file that scraped user's browser history for crypto and their log-in credentials. His info got hacked, with $32k drained from his account.

Lucky for this guy, many people immediately pitched in to recover the lost money (people on internet can be nice sometimes)

The game in question has been delisted

But man, how shitty do you have to be to steal from cancer patient, or any person in general? Actually, why didn't Valve go through some kind of background check in the first place?

I just tried most of the demo, its really damn good. Feels really good to play, graphics are beautiful, combat is fun and the story is interesting. Just what I would expect from the makers of Crosscode, which I also loved. I think Alabaster Dawn will be fantastic. I just hope it doesn't peak with a dungeon mid way like Crosscode kinda did. You know the one, where it tries to trap you so you start breaking all the rules to escape and its awesome.

One of the GOATs is getting a remaster

Ok, so Deus Ex' didn't gain its legendary status from its visual prowess. It was always a kinda ugly game, even for its time. But those remaster upgrades are fugly, like a cheap Steam Greenlight asset flip.

It wouldn’t be a bad looking remaster if it was released in the PS3/360 era. In the PS5/RTX PC era it looks well below par.

I'm guessing the intent was to do the "what you remember the game looked like" thing, but the result looks less idealized UE1 engine game as it does an awkward mish mash of late 90s pc game with some modern res textures with PBR on top; but the models and lighting looks more mid 00s. It kinda reminds me of Half-Life Source.

Yeah, I mean if they're gonna sell this for like $5.00 I'd get it, but any more than that is crap.

Called it. Predicted that he'd warp around just like Batman again, that it would have that automation where the game pulls you to the enemies and you are never truly in control. No real foot movement; it's largely skipped. I knew that it would look as stupid. Stupid as hell, the floaty leap at 48 seconds.

Overdesigned, like the Arkham characters, because game devs don't know the restraint of comic book artists and animators who need to keep theirs simple.

Well, 29 euros. some 50 ish Aussie dollars. Meanwhile, the original is regularly on sale for like a buck or two and has a slew of community patches available, as well as tons of mods, including some graphics overhauls that honestly look better. If you buy it on GOG, it comes prepackaged with the essential community patches.

I can't help but be struck by the dime store facial design on Wolverine. I'll never hate Insomniac (probably), but they just can't escape that rubber-padded toy style realism.

Meh, I'm good, I still got my copy of that Wolverine Origins game. It's really dumb and very late 00s, but also a lot of fun.

Just watched it again because I was in a hurry this morning. Holy crap, that turn at 49 seconds is bad. I see him turn for like one frame and then he lunges full speed in the other direction. So absurd. A rear attack like in Streets of Rage would have been better, but this combat system is about the bullshit zigzagging of Batman. And that annoying God of War 2018 camera again that you know will be problematic. Will it be a single camera shot again? Am I supposed to be impressed by that?

The costumes look so plastic with all those needless details. Tasteless.

So the Disco Elysium people are making another Crpg and this one is about spies. From the little I saw, they seem to be implementing a system I imagined about when thinking of how I’d design a dbz Jrpg as a teenager, where there’s a bunch of actions you can take beyond just basic attacks and spells and so on, with massive flexibility in movement and approach and all of it being tied to stats somehow. Basically it looks like there’s contextual stat based traversal through and interaction with the world like you’d see in combat but all the time. Can’t wait for it!

Then the question is which Disco Elysium people? Because developer ZA/UM broke apart after the game's release over an ugly legal dispute. Most of the key creatives that made Disco Elysium what is was were either already gone by release time, or left in ensuing legal battle, most going on to found new studios. So 'the Disco Elysium people' can now mean like half a dozen different studios.

EDIT: apparently this is by ZA/UM, which I guess makes it technically correct, but in that id Software way where, yes, id Software made og Doom, but that id Software and the current id Software have very little overlap, if any at all.

Neat, and it's Nightdive, so high chance of excellence. Weird how they're missing all their shots in the trailer tho. Maybe because it's pre-alpha and there are issues with hit detection or reactions or something.

Not quite an official statement from Costco, but still
