This is just plane plain messed up -

What's messed up? A plane landing on a freeway? Cuz small planes or military jets landing on freeways in emergencies or planned exercises is a thing. Some countries even specifically design their freeways to facilitate it. It's risky, of cours, because of traffic and other possible obstructions, but when your plane is out of power and coasting, a flat paved surface probably looks real appealing compared to any alternatives.

Well, yes, but I imagine the pilot of the plane that was likely to crash didn't think they had too many options. But yeah, in my not expert opinion it looks like something that has the risk of being much worse.
