Well yeah, the point is to have everyone try it to make people think they need it so then they pay for it. How else could they possibly earn back the astronomical amount of money that's been invested into AI? There's gonna be a massive recession when the market realizes all that money is not going to ever be recouped. If you're anywhere near close to retirement, move your 401K investments out of the stock market and into bonds.It does look like a lot of generative AI places are cutting back services, or paywalling them or summat. Looks like it turned out pricier to run than expected.

They're having to face up to the fact that the investment money could be drastically reduced long before they're profitable, so they need to monetise services, fast. In the case of Sora shuttering, I wonder whether it's more the much higher cost to produce video output than the low user base.It does look like a lot of generative AI places are cutting back services, or paywalling them or summat.
