How you've never heard of this term beforehand is beyond me. SKUs have a happy have been around for a very long time. Not just consoles or electronics.

Mario Galaxy film is peak video game to film adaption, along Sonic 3.
I've never worked in retail.

Last I heard it had gotten some mixed-to-poor reviews from critics, but actual audiences who got to see it early liked it a lot - at least that was the impression I got from a Google search (yes, I put '-ai' on the end*, so it wasn't just Gemini making shit up). I've seen a few movies like that, though most of them fell into the 'not strictly speaking good, but very entertaining' category; since I haven't actually read any other reviews, I was going to see it anyway, but now I might actually commit to getting tickets.

Still gotta watch Sonic 3 as well, I liked the first two a lot.

* It really works. Try it (without the quotation marks).

Stock Keeping Unit... Hmmm, nope, I've never heard that term and still can't see the relation to what I said. Is it supposed to mean the console or the game disks?
You know how every product on sale has its own bar code? Like, pumpkin pie Pop-Tarts have one number, cherry Pop-Tarts have another, so on. SKUs work the same. They're numbers assigned to a particular product on the back end of retail for easy ordering.

Thanks for the clear explanation.
You don't even need to work in retail to know what that is. It's basic knowledge.
They didn't teach it in school, and according to Rogue Wolf it's very much a back end of retail term that I have no reason to have come across.

No, but most kids and people can pick up on the smallest signs or via repetition. It's not hard.
Neither is not being an asshole over completely inconsequential things, but you seem to fail at that pretty regularly.

Have you ever considered that not everybody has had the same experiences as you and the same terms are not used with the same frequency in all parts of the world? I don't live in America, and have never ordered any kind of stock. I've worked as an industrial mechanic for most of my life, and never had any part in ordering things. I also asked my dad if he'd ever heard the term either, and he had not. I don't know how I'm supposed to understand a term I've never heard via repetition.

Dude, not being petty, just pointing out it out. Fine, if you never knew, but now you're getting an attitude over nothing.

How about we end this conversation and move on? Because your attitude is really not doing anything, and i'm not even getting mad at all.

Battle Axe is a better Gauntlet game than the reboot that came out a decade ago.

I'm probably going to sound like an asshole by jumping in here, but you definitely could've handled the start of this conversation better, or not jumped back in after #5841 "I've never worked in retail". And I know I'm pretty bad at disengaging myself.

I wasn't trying insult anyone. All I said was that it's common knowledge, and even Rouge Wolf pointed this out (he was more thorough with his explanation though). When I wrote this out the first time around, my tone wasn't mocking or looking down upon at Drathnoxis. My expression was more shock and bewildered, and nothing more. That's the only thing about communicating online I don't like at times when it's all text.

I already moved on from the conversation and repeating is getting anyone nowhere.

Best to just think of sku as a “type” or “variant” of something. Like in terms of PS5, Base model, Slim model, Pro model, etc. None of which have had a price cut.

I'll accept that you weren't intending to be insulting, but for future reference keep in mind that most people will probably feel insulted if you repeatedly express "shock and bewilderment" at something that they don't know and insist that it's basic knowledge that even a child would know.

It's often mentioned in gaming media when talking about different console versions. That's a "place" where lots of people who are into games pick it up, I feel. As you just did.

Some places are different, but there are places outside the usa that use that system I was talking about or something similar to keep track. Though with a different name or acronym.

I guess it's because I am older now, but I still can't believe there are still so many PC gamers who can't get over the existence of consoles. How you can make fun of the PS5 price increases when your RAM alone could buy two base PS5s? The same tired arguments from when I was a child are rapidly becoming even less relevant today. No amount of discounted games from a decade ago will make up for paying twice the amount of a PS5 to get less than half the performance.

And I say this as someone who has no plans to go back to console gaming. But good lord, just use your brains a tiny bit more, and you'll see we're all on the same sinking ship together.

I genuinely don't understand why so many people list Resident Evil 3 as their favorite game in the series. I've heard their reasons, sure, but I've played the game a couple of times now, and I just don't see what anyone else sees in it. Honestly, I don't even put it in my top ten.
