Not only is Mel Brooks still alive, he's still working, currently making Spaceballs 2: For Real This Time.
Considering live-action One Piece turned out great, the same can be possible for Persona. I have no interest, because I am not a fan of the franchise in general.I don't normally like to be that guy who says "this is just a doomed concept", but...
Earrings?Cartoon Network Studios reached out to Heroic Signatures about a Conan animated series because Genndy Tartakovsky told them he wanted to make one.
He’d been trying since 2007, years before Primal even existed.
A Conan the Barbarian animated series is now in development for Prime Video, with Tartakovsky as executive producer and showrunner, and Darrick Bachman, Fred Malmberg, and Mark Wheeler as executive producers. The show will be produced by Cartoon Network Studios, and anchored on Robert E. Howard’s Queen of the Black Coast.

One Piece and YHH turned out fine.A live-action tv adaptation of a Japanese video game franchise headed by a western creative.
I'm sure this will not in any way result in online pandemonium.
Let's take a franchise famous and beloved for its stylish anime visuals and turn it into a NETFLIX live-action show...

I know that. But that won't stop the discourse. One Piece and YHH turned out fine.
Fuck the discourse and ignore the fools. They never truly matter.I know that. But that won't stop the discourse.
Every post is just a new layer of the bizarre onion of your personality.I have been informed that Conan wore earrings in artwork. I don't know the comics, but he never wore degenerate earrings
Kind of jumping the gun here, don't you think?Conan wore earrings in Frazetta's paintings. I like Frazetta, but it seems he was pretty revisionist with Conan. Howard's world was more civilized and medieval than Frazetta's artwork. Howard's stories were about the barbarian rejecting the sophistry, guile cruelty and weakness of civilization. His Conan lived among civilization and so was usually clothed in much more than a loincloth. The Cimmerian was practical and did not care about adornment, except when he used it to his advantage, like in "The Treasure of Tranicos," where he wanted his enemies to know that he knew the location of the treasure. Anyway, there's less of a point to Howard's central theme if the whole world looks ancient and barbarian.
I doubt we'll ever get the true Conan in television or films. As much as I like him, Tartakovsky doesn't seem to get it either. Or he doesn't care.
It's all he ever does.Kind of jumping the gun here, don't you think?
Getting a true adaptation of something written 100 years ago is not common, especially with Howard's many issues and shortcomings as a writer. Which is a shame, if you are going to do Conan, do Conan . If you don't want to do Conan, do an original character that resembles Conan in some ways.I doubt we'll ever get the true Conan in television or films.
