Whatever, just wash your hands.
SF is not that slow paced. Compared to something like GG or BBL, you have a point, but SF can be fast paced. Play SFIII: 3rd Strike, Alpha 2 & 3, or V. You'd be surpised how fast a match can go. SF still fast paced compared to the MK or Injustice games. Capcom's crossover VS games tend be faster, but they usually have a different play style compared to SF to begin with and is more in line with what you want.
No, I don't really mean that, I mean more character movement and the lengh of time between attacks feels slow to me compared to something like GG/BB. Although yeah, the MK and Injustice games are much slower than that. I really only like those games for the spectacle of them, the fighting systems they have just feel meh to me.

GG has a much wider buffer window and a generally free system of chaining normals from one to another. Basically when you hit a button the game keeps the input for 6f after you do so, making it the same as having hit the button 6 times back to back as fast as possible, so it's much easier to cancel moves into specials or to have links come out. It does require some longer inputs but those are usually doable off of other hits so it's about being precise with it rather than rushing it.
Yeah, thats something I really like, how the chaining normals system in GG works, especially after I actually figured it out. Before then I never could do the combos in fighters, or at least that I could remember, maybe I could back in Killer Instinct or something. But again, I'm casual when it comes to fighters, I'll never achieve the same mastery that I have on something like an fps game.

Unmetal, which looks like it wants to be Metal Gear but changed just enough not to get sued. Specifically, it looks very similar to the early MG games. From the trailer and the screenshots, it looks like it's probably gonna be good.

My general rule is to not get hyped up since there is absolutely no benefit to being hyped up. And it contributes to people not having fun trying to justify their purchase with "no actually I am having fun".

That being said, I am looking forwards to Crusader Kings III. It is the sequel to my favorite game of all time, and judging by their dev diaries I think they are bringing their a-game.

I kinda wish Komani would let someone else license the IP(on a rental basis or whatever) but Kojima wouldn't be involved and the track record of the non-Kojima MG games are mixed(Who remembers Portable Ops? The other MG games pretty much ignore it even existed). Then again, after MGSV, maybe it's best if Kojima isn't invovled. He's had this bad tendency to get way up his own ass with MGS4 and MGSV.

Or they could re release the Legacy collection(the one that has all the canon games other than V) for current gen consoles because right now it's PS3 only. That would also be nice. Hell, a PC port would also be really nice.

COnsidering Konami has started releasing collections of their classic series(Contra and Castlevania), this isn't a vain hope.

The made for America only Snake's Revenge inspired Kojima to do Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. He used the good and not so good ideas from SR for better use in MG2 and beyond.

True. And while SR may or may not have been a good game(I played it a long time ago but never got very far), MG2 is pretty damn good(so much that MGS was almost a remake in some respects) and certainly don't mind if we get more along those lines.

Nothing in particular. The new Vanillaware game I guess but I don't even know what it's supposed to be.

Honestly it kind of sucks seeing people all over getting hype for the upcoming consoles/games and being unable to yourself because you've come to approach everything gaming related with a pessimistic distrust.

The solution is late adoption. Better price, hardware kinks worked out, the hype has been proven - or disproven - and games (also often cheaper by that point).

Anyways, I just saw this -

What piqued my interest most was when they said it was a combo of Demon’s Souls specifically (not Dark, like every other copycat) and Dead Space.

I know I’ve seen other people talk about how a Souls-like in a sci-fi setting might be cool. Also reminds me that I should really revisit the original Dead Space, because I did enjoy the demo.

It's apparently been out for a few days on PC. Reviews have been okay so far, but everyone seems to agree it doesn't do much to set itself apart from every other Souls-like aside from it's setting(cribbing from Event Horizon). Apparently the Orbit timer is an interesting idea but isn't explained to you in game and doesn't really do much to shake things up.

It's too bad because I was following it due to it's concept but the reviews so far have made me decide to give it a pass. Maybe someday if I'm starved for Souls-likes I'll give it a shot but I'm honestly most interested in Ashen(and I already own that one).

Yeah I just saw the general consensus and it’s a shame. But on the other hand, makes it easy to forego adding yet another title to the ol’ backlog.

Eh, Metal Gear isn't Metal Gear without Kojima. UnMetal looks like a fun parody though.

Yeah, it's why I have mixed feelings about the first idea(Konami letting someone else use the license) but I'm 100% behind either a PC port and/or a release on the PS5 of the Legacy collection.

Hang on, there's a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, how did I forget? Though I'm unsure it could be capable of reaching the heights of the originals duel-reveal storytelling of past and future/present, as that intrigue has now been spent. What possible new intrigue could be added? I am intrigued! But only mildly.

There's a couple unanswered questions from the original game they could easily expand on.

-Lance Reddick/Sylens has HADES and it's unclear what he plans do with it.
-It's never explained what caused the AIs to be unshackled from GAIA and prompt GAIA to blow up it's core and produce the Sobeck Clone/Aloy.. I believe it is stated that something outside of GAIA was responsible.

This x 5. One of the best collections in gaming. Still haven’t gotten through it though. Might revisit it sooner than later, but I’d hate to have it stuck in PS3 era if something ever happened. Not really planning on replacing my current one.

I do love me main man Lance...he just wants to learn all the knowledge! At the cost of everything including his own survival
But yeah, i have no doubts there is more curiosities left beyond the main sequel hook, it's just the first game so neatly entwined the narrative reveals between the past and present to explain the state of the world and Aloy with a respectable balanced drip-feed, that I don't think it's easily possible to do anything similar or indeed better afterwards. It'll be like matrix-sequel-syndrome. Though as a game, there is still a lot more left to appreciate beyond narrative at least.

I'd settle for them just releasing MGS1 on the Switch. Just gimme that good shit in portable mode, and also you know, have it actually be available on a current console.

Is MGS1 even avaible on PC?

It is, actually. I got a copy of it way back in the day, but playing it on the keyboard is...ehhh(PC gamepads weren't really a thing at the time, or at least, I didn't know about them).

Apparently so did MGS2 but apparently it wasn't particularly easy to find.
