I'll keep this in mind when I'm being shot in the leg by one of those police issued chainsaw guns from gears of war that bidens going to be buying.

What none of you understand is that this rhetoric is what's losing you the election. You compromise with nut jobs so that you can win, but instead just end up compromising your views and losing anyway. If you start at reasonable, and they start at crazy, then when you compromise, you end up halfway to crazy. And then the republicans can make even your reasonable views sound as if they're extreme.
Yea, you do that when YOU get shot because that is going to happen right? People need to stop getting their news from YouTube and Twitter and actually look at the source material themselves.

"I did not support M4A, I do not support it now" (52 seconds to 57 seconds)

The question was if he thought he was going too far center and alienating people on the left

He then goes on a minute tangent about things that the "left" want and how he doesn't support them because he supports propping up the shitastic Obamacare system instead.

And it's not "nice and fun" to be outraged, I'd much rather have a Democrat who supported useful shit instead of trying to keep their Corporate Insurance Donors happy while all the people he's supposedly works for (the general population) are getting fucked over...
Have you looked at Biden's actual health plan? Looks great right now and is EXACTLY what we need to shift to a M4A system. Biden doesn't have to call it Medicare for all light for it to be good. Have you looked at Biden's actual infrastructure and environmental plan? How he is blocking the GOP subsidies to fossil fuels and reinstating all the protections Trump has removed? Biden supports Biden's plan, doesn't mean Biden's plan is bad. Biden's plans look a hell of a lot better than Trump's plan. Biden's plan has a lot of what is in Bernie's plan as well. Not calling it a certain name does not mean it is bad.

Just looking at the plans yourself and comparing them between the two candidates isn't asking too much.

These are all good ideas.

The first one though. I don't think a team lf fact checkers could keep up with Bidens inaccuracies, let alone Trump's. Trump uses the Shapiro method. Throw a bunch of information out, hopefully unrelated and watch people flounder trying to figure out which error you should attack first. The more lies the better to confound more. But make sure you have one truth because you can just say, 'this one is true so all my other statements are true.'
Nah man, you just need informed people. I caught a bunch of lies and knew the factual information. You just need an informed enough group of people, say, bs callers, who get to have an "I call bs" veto that silences mics and gets to factcheck. Also the factchecking segment doesn't count towards the agreed upon debate time so if someone keeps lying they'll just have to either stop or stay there for 12 hours.

I agree with maybe half of these.

Who does the "fact checking," and how do we clear them of bias? Especially when they're having to make instantaneous decisions in front of a live audience? Fact checking has always been a bad idea. It's just a dog whistle for "filtering statements through biased propaganda." It completely removes any nuance from a discussion.

What will the score board be based on? How do you decide who gets a point? Why do they get one? How do you, once again, remove bias from the equation? You can't, it's ridiculous. It's like when a certain unamed group called for "objective video game reviews that only state facts." Even if such a review could exist, it would be worthless.

I only point these out because I keep seeing both parties demand them, as if any kind of objectivity could be agreed upon in something as complex as politics.

You stance on the mics is a legitimately good idea. It would avoid last nights shitshow, atleast.
You just agree on a group of fact checkers beforehand and both parties have to OK them and agree that their word is law ahead of time.

The score board is to keep track of who is lying and how much. It helps illustrate what dim or inattentive people may fail to grasp. Basically it's like a handicap that makes people into an informed electorate artificially.

KK isn't racist either now see: LOOK!

Means we can REALLY believe it now. LMAO!!

I can't believe anyone actually believes this shit. Quit poster childing is just makes you look ignorant of reality.
Isn't this an image of the guy who convinced folks to quit the KKK? The black jazz musician dude? The one who got hundreds of people including the big mage to stop being KKK?

I just grabbed the first two black KKK images I saw, read the Christian Monitor Article to get the point. A while back there was a KKK group allowing blacks and Jews and that supposedly is supposed to mean that none of the KKK are racist now.

Sorta like Proud Boys posting on white nationalists sites, retweeting white nationalists, organizing with white nationalists many of their members being part of white nationalist groups ect. Like showing a picture of a black Proud boy somehow means they aren't racist is like saying " I have a black friend" poster childing. Look there are black KKK means KKK isn't racist or some other stupid BS.

Even those aside I reckon there’s a better than even chance Trump will retain the presidency - you know obvious acts of God notwithstanding - because it’s been a while since I remember a one term president in the US. Of course my cognitive memory of them starts at Clinton so there’s bound to be examples if you go back further.
I think that there will be chaos regardless of who wins. Either you'll have progressives up in arms or the MAGA army up in arms. And then there's the Q weirdos.

No wonder Hunter S Thompson killed himself. He saw this coming.
I wonder what Hunter S Thompson would have thought of the current internet craze around Adrenochrome, considering that he used it in the past.

They should have muted his mic when he wasn't supposed to be speaking, like he was a corporate-unfriendly Democrat running against Biden in the primary.
That is exactly what I said, but getting Trump to agree to allow them to mute him will prove difficult. He has to also agree to the terms of the debate for there to be a debate.

So basically a real fight club.

A fight club created as a systemic racism denier club who then says/ does a bunch of racist shit and defends others saying and doing a bunch or racist shit. Retweeting white nationalists, posting on white nationalists sites, coordinating with white nationalists and having members who are white nationalists are in no way now racist right? LMAO Oh hey "don't call us racist, only WE can define ourselves." Yea.. This is sort of like KKK Light. Oh and ANYONE can join as long as they agree systemic racism doesn't exist and be wiling to deny facts, reality and all of the ample evidence they are presented. I can't believe anyone buys this, actually the stupid part is them actually trying to convince anyone of this in the first place. It is like when they say it themselves, they can't even convince themselves of this crap. It is more like, " Let's see how we can make racism go mainstream" by saying and doing racist crap then claiming it really isn't racist because..

Just waiting for Trump to have his DOJ force agencies to deny the BS proud boys have been doing so it doesn't make him look bad, because you know the REAL concern is ANTIFA..

Trump has been pressuring the FBI to ignore their right wing extremist data as it is and defunding their ability to fight right wing violence at all. Trump is already protecting them from the FBI as it is.

I really can't add anything else here, but:

-I actually feel sorry for the moderator. Think he did as good a job he could have with Trump blathering around.

-Trump: Ad hominem

-Biden: Policy (and while he stumbled over his words a few times, who doesn't?)

Could say more, but nothing else to say. Except...

Alright, one more.

Yea... I am really envious of New Zealand for having the government they do right now. The hell we have to even go through in the US to even start to fix the US makes it appear impossible to even happen in our lifetime.

Hillary 14 points ahead
Yes, that's when she was about 8 points up, though, immediately after a debate where she outperformed Trump. Clinton's lead collapsed heavily by about 5 percentage points when the FBI announced it was reopening the investigation into her emails shortly afterwards. It's also an extreme value: most polls were in the range about +5 to +10. A person who looks at a week's worth of polls of +4, +5, +6, +6, +6, +8, +10, +13 and concludes "OMG Hillary's 13 ahead?" is irrational, and a person who only looks at the +13 merely isn't looking properly.

This is what I mean about understanding context and how polls work. Most complaints about polls are basically from people who don't know or understand statistics and polls.

And yet they have been getting them so wrong it seems.
...
And that margin for error is becoming far bigger these days it seems.
See above.

To me, it isn't even just a question of government, it's also a question of opposition. Same over here. Yes, I'd have preferred it if Shorten had won the 2019 election, but ScoMo's at least competent. He's at least done a good job with Covid, even if I'm absolutely scathing of the LNP's environment policies. But at least Morrison can string some sentences together.

And I want to make clear, I don't feel morally rightous typing this. I don't feel "hah hah, look at the US, we've got it so much better." I actually feel sad. I'm definitely not the only one to look up old presidential debates between the likes of Obama and Romney/McCain, and think how different, well, everything is. I feel sorry for the people I work with who come from the US, I feel sorry for the people in the US I stayed with when I visited California years ago, I feel sorry for everyone. And yes, that includes staunch conservatives who've had to watch Trump hijack the Republican Party.

...damn it, I need a refresher of better times. Um...

Yeah, there we go. :(

That Republican party has been dying for a long time: Trump is merely the manifestation of long-term trends. Eventually the old guard always lose their grip.

Except polls, overall, are broadly right - so long as you understand statistics and how to intrepret them.
Personally, I prefer prediction markets. I'd prefer them even more if they would become more broadly popular.

Yeah, Biden's lines really felt overly rehearsed and he didn't adequately anticipated on Trump's bullying. Trump might not be the smartest but he's very quick on his feet and Biden was just way open for his attacks. He bumbled, tripped over his words. He can't help that ofcourse but it isn't in his advantage. When Biden started talking directly into the camera to 'the American people' it was even a bit cringey at times. I'm also not sure if the eye lift was that good an idea. It made him look insecure because the bully always called him 'sleepy'.

The Democrats try to be too calculated by choosing a candidate of 'the middle' but it doesn't work against Trump. Trump is too colorful and someone too milquetoast on issues just gets under snowed by Trump's constant barrages. As an outsider looking at this debate I really don't see how anyone could consider Biden the 'winner'.
Just because you could sum it up as "old man bullies other old man for shouting at clouds"...

With Bernie it could have been an epic clash between ''washed up socialist vs fat real estate proletarian''. There would have been really something to choose as the worldviews couldn't be further apart.

Well the first one looks like from a comedy show or some other show or something rather than a picture from real life and the 2nd one is Daryl Davis who has helped people quit the KKK and that's him with some-one he's likely helped quit.

So not the best way to try and prove an example with a TV show and a guy helping people quit the KKK lol.

I said 20 points ahead I showed 20 points ahead. You can take your range and use it to rearrange yourself lol. The claim was there that I said.

And you trust those claims why..?
I trust the videos showing him with his medical kit.

I trust the evidence being presented of him working in the town where the lot was he was defending.

You ask me to believe he's a white supremacist based on the a phone case and false claims against him yet apparently video evidence you could have spotted yourself is "just claims" not evidence as such?
