Liars constantly lie, that’s how lying works. A person who lies never tells the truth, that’s what makes them a liar. There is no material basis for deception, it only occurs when someone has a deceptive spirit, possessed by liar ghosts.
Liars lie when it serves their immediate purpose or long-term goal; every word they utter should be vetted for credibility, but not immediately dismissed as a lie, i.e.: even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day. I think ObsidianJones called it that this is more a "boy who cried wolf" situation; Trump has established himself as someone who's willing to lie on the big stage, and what bigger stage is there than the leader of the free world coming down with the very illness that has crippled that free world? Does he really have it? We've seen him eschewing and encourage others to eschew preventative measures and guidelines, so it makes sense he could have it. But there's also an opportunity to fake the illness only to emerge in a couple weeks as a symbol of strength and perseverance, the hero his constituency needs to believe he is. So yeah, I can see it going either way; with this guy running shit, I stopped trying to figure anything out; I'm content to sit back and wait to see how hard I need to roll my eyes.

Let me rephrase, I'm not going to allow comments "hoping" for someone's death on our forums. No matter who it is. This isn't a comment that anyone needs to make publicly HERE. That doesn't excuse ANYTHING that Trump has done, and you can wish whatever pain you want on him outside of this forum, but this is not the place to do it.

As I've shared a few times, my mother and my grandmother, and now a cousin and an uncle has passed from Covid 19.

Trump's actions before could have prevented their deaths.

Trump's death now will not atone or make right their deaths. Nothing will.

Nor does Barron Trump deserve to know what this feels like.

For nothing else, Mr. and Mrs. Trump... For Barron. Make it through for Barron.
Their kid will be fine if his parents die. Someone in the family will take care of him unti he is of age. And he will have a lot of money.

Color me sceptical.

Mighty convenient way for him to not have to attend more debates.

Also mighty convenient way for him to downplay the severity of covid-19, pretend to be infected and then make a miraculous recovery and claim that the virus is just a simple flu, nothing to worry about, forget about those 212.000 dead Americans.
Like you can't have Trump appear via monitor to do a debate lol

Yea, you already know that has nothing to do with this thread, you just found it and said "HEY I MUST USE THIS" came to the current events section, gabbed the first trump thread you spotted and posted. Mhmm and you wonder why Abe refuses to grant Missouri statehood.
Oddly it is.

I mean this entire thread to a greater or lesser extent is people gloating about how something bad happened to Trump because they hate him so much.

sO mUcH fOr ThE tOlErAnT lEfT!!!!

lol, I could not give less of a left-wing shit. I read the news this morning and made a little *snurk* noise, then the man in my head made a note to ask Alanis to re-record Ironic.

What's this insane idea that every life is sacred? Quite clearly some lives just make things shit.
Just remember you get what you give in the end.

Given relevant statements regarding Jair Bolsanaro or Boris Johnson this seems Nationalistically motivated. But whatever, it’s your forum. I suppose the volume of death wishers on this website is different, as is the concentration. There’s obviously other differences between these cases.

I haven't seen those, so no it's not nationalistically motivated. If I had seen them I'd say the same thing. I just classify these type of messages as something that doesn't need to publicly stated here, but you can of course feel however you want privately about the situation.

On this, I've been extremely torn, because my gut instinct is to wish someone better health if they were sick even if they would tear out my throat at the first ability to. It's not about the person receiving the well wishes, it's the person giving them, that they are resisting apathy and malice for a moment of empathy in a world where such is in short supply. But Trump is also a uniquely bad actor even by the standards of the time and for whom 200,000+ deaths can reasonably be attributed to due to his sheer unwillingness to engage in basic control measures and active promotion of flouting those recommendations.

I've seen both condolences and condemnation on social media as well as this thread. Ironically, what bugs me more than anything is tone policing by one side over the other. Many are grieving for the losses of loved ones and others both from the disease and the white surpemest violence that he has all but directly condoned (at least until the debate where he condoned a white power group) and their anger and rage at the man is completely justified. Others are grappling with their cherished beliefs that one should act with malice against another no matter what wrongs they have done to you, and for them well wishes are a form of resistance to the cruelty the fascist movement has completely consumed with GOP with. Neither side has the moral high ground, all they have is their own personal moral convictions.

As for me, I have no desire to make US politics any more a bloodsport than it already is. I wish the President of the country I call home a speedy recovery and I wish the GOP be obliterated as a viable political party in this election and every one since.

That is not even remotely true. If you were a news channel, it would be fake news. You are not a news channel, so it's just silly.
He could be citing the news as evidence!

But seriously, yeah, no that's clearly not how the world works.

As I said, I don't expect anyone to show sympathy for Trump. I don't even think he deserves it considering his handling and mocking of everything related to Covid. There's a difference, to me at least, to not feeling bad for someone over actively wishing for them to die, even if I of course understand the sentiment.

That's all I really add to this.

More importantly, I've seen some of you personally affected by COVID and I'm sorry to see that some of you have lost loved ones from it. I wish you all well and hope you continue to remain safe during all of this. I'm in the same boat with a lot of you being in a high-risk group with a heart condition, so me not wanting to see death wishes in our forum isn't out of sympathy for Trump or anyone that doesn't take COVID seriously.

Just to clarify, something like "maybe he will die horribly" would be ok, but "I hope he does in a puddle of sick" wouldn't be? I did go with examples that are kinda out there. Personally I want it to be a nice painful disease for him, but for him to live since there is so much he needs to be held accountable for.

What do you think he's gonna ever get held accountable for?

Sigh, probably not what he really should be. I mean I think we will be lucky if he actually even gets held to that 100 mil he owes back to the IRS. It already sounds like someone there was fucking with the audit so it would take forever.

Maybe that. But I imagine that's the sort of thing that'd carry over against an estate.

Tho really, in the end, I guess I was just surprised at the thought because I'm cynical about it and think he'll get off fine living the way he always has with no real consequences for his actions

Generally people that manage to get to his level don't. But... well, this is where things get weird, if he wasn't president then I think he would be punished, but because he is, we enter into a really weird area. Cause he has pretty blatantly broken laws and such, but he was president so if hes arrested then it looks like you are putting away your political enemies. Not to mention that the republicans might just stonewall any attempt to hold him... but they also might throw him under the bus to distance themselves from him and try and save the party.

Lets just say I think there is a possibility of him being held to account, but its slim.

I mean, openly wishing for the death of a president of the united states is KIIIIIND of a crime, last I checked. Dunno, something silly about Secret Service or what not. Call me crazy, you know?

Pretty sure "Hope this person quickly dies of natural causes" isn't a crime
