I was disappointed that countries didn't get to yell at China for the virus. Lets face it, a lot of viruses come from that place, so if they want to be part of the global economy, then they need to have better health guidelines. Yes, of course the vaccine is being worked on and it might come out at the end of this year or next year. Experts are saying there is a good chance the Chinese virus will be endemic since people refuse to stay indoor.
I do hope this was sarcasm.
OT: The truth is this could have started anywhere, I do not " blame China" because I see that as absurdly ignorant of the reality of the ever changing world we live in. If this had started in the US, the US would have been even worse than China at containment and other nations would have had even less notice to act. With Climate change and ever increasing human encroachment into previously uninhabited environments, we can expect an increase of viruses and spread of disease. Simply because this time the virus came from bats in Guangdong, and we can expect more viruses to come from those same bats as well as we desperately need more research in this area to help us better prepare for the next one, it does not mean that the next pandemic can't start in bats or other animals in the US or elsewhere.

A catastrophic loss in biodiversity, reckless destruction of wildland and warming temperatures have allowed disease to explode. Ignoring the connection between climate change and pandemics would be “dangerous delusion,” one scientist said.

Yes, vaccines are still being worked on, however, we do not yet know how effective those vaccines will be or how frequently we may need to receive them. Chances are, we will likely still need to wear masks for a while. I do not have an ETA on the vaccine, there are a number of factors that are going to impact how soon we should expect one to be widely available in the US.
It is possible for it to last more than two years. We are hopeful to have it better under control by then, but I still think it is too early to speculate on that.
