No, it''s not; It's objective fact. Reality does not change because you've closed your eyes and are chanting "lalalalala". Most of us learned this as toddlers; I'm sorry you're still struggling with it.
"BLM is a communist, Marxist attempt at overthrowing democracy, not an appeal for sympathy or protection for black lives! This is an objective fact because I say so! If you don't agree you're denying reality!"

See, just making claims as to the hidden motivations of things isn't constructive.

What the actual fuck is this video message from this turd in human form?

Why is he throwing more oil on the fire! Why the fuck is his message "The election was stolen, we're the victims, the other side is evil, but please go home".

What the fuck is wrong with that piece of shit.

Interesting how you seem to elide the difference between description and prescription.

But no, believing that progress occurs-- somehow-- doesn't make you progressive any more than believing that fires happen makes you an arsonist.
That is the worst analogy I've ever seen. "Arsonist" is a description of someone's actions. "Progressive" is a description of someone's beliefs. Believing in fires doesn't make someone an arsonist, lighting fires does, because that's what that word means. But at the same time, making society progress doesn't make you progressive, believing in the progress does, because that's what that word means. An old, stubborn traditionalist can advance society through their actions without believing in change at all, that doesn't make them a progressive because of their actions.

To get beyond your analogy to the counterpoint you were trying to make, you are correct that there is a distinction between believing something occurs and advocating for it. Yes. But how can someone reasonably advocate for something without believing in it? How can any reasonable person advocate for change if they don't believe it's possible? If the actions of people searching for progress in the past haven't improved today, it's complete insanity to believe actions today are going to change the future for the better, especially with a "well it's always gonna suck that way" fatalist perspective.

You can't be a progressive without believing in progress. It isn't possible.

I genuinely don't understand why you have a problem with what I said.
There's a radical mob storming the capitol building, a radical mob that is under the impression that the November election was stolen, this being their reason for storming the capitol building.

Trump saying that the election was indeed stolen only emboldens them, it justifies their thoughts and actions for them, this is called throwing oil on the fire. Him then asking them to leave is pure bullshit.

Judging by your mental gymnastics in topics, I know that your mind is capable enough to understand this, don't be obtuse.

I just said "telling them to go home is not throwing oil on the fire".
I didn't say anything about whether or not continuing to claim that the election was stolen is throwing oil on the fire.

You you seem to be having a problem with what I didn't say, rather than with what I actually said.

Trolling by playing semantics then?

In that case my only reply is;
just shut your mouth.
You disingenuous piece of shit.

Here's a little context: Trump told governors to "dominate the streets" and "put them in jail for ten years" during the BLM protests. Now armed thugs are planting bombs and storming the Capitol, and Trump says "it's time to go home" and "we love you" peppered in-between the same "we wuz robbed" garbage that inflamed all of this in the first place.

You're not blind to the problem; it's just that acknowledging it would take all your fun away.

Like I said, I just said "telling them to go home is not throwing oil on the fire".
I made no other statements about any of that other stuff.
