Scalpers are crying about having a bad public image.

I haven't watched their video yet but I'm not sure why they (as in the scalpers) even care (maybe it's addressed).

Like...no one likes scalpers. That is a fact of life. You are either fine with that and scalp or you're not fine with that and you don't. There's really not much of a middle ground as there's really no "good" way to be a scalper.

I sold the Xbox Series X I had gotten at launch because I was in a bad spot with these medical bills and decided against keeping it (then I bought one later anyway so went through all that shit for nothing) and the thread on The Facebooks was filled with a bunch of angry whiny people whining about me selling the console.

I wasn't even selling it for some huge profit (I was doing the Console and the Controller because I got a bundle as I had intended to keep it but decided against it, listed it for $800 and ultimately sold it to some lady who at least claimed she wanted it for her kids Christmas for $700; I think in the end after all that trouble, I made like $50 :D).

I accepted though it because again, no one likes a scalper and I knew there would be people who were MASSIVELY pissed off that I was able to get my hands on a console and they didn't. I accepted this and I'm not even a "professional" scalper like these guys. If I knew and accepted this with selling A console, I don't know how they thought it would go better for them as they use underhanded methods to take the consoles away and sell them at max profits.

Whatever, just wash your hands.

I would bet it has something to do with social media making it easier to tell who is a scalper and people being a bit more pissed at shortages at the moment and probably yelling at them.

I know they've talked about the scalpers in the past and I've seen a lot of other chatter on Twitter about scalpers being doxxed. So I imagine that you're at least partially right on this because while The Internet has made scalping far easier, it's also made tracking down said Scalpers and ruining the shit out of their life way easier too...

One particular Twitter Thread (it's all hearsay obviously as it's just people talking, I never really bothered to truly look into it) but supposedly one of the biggest scalpers literally got hammered as they posted about getting twenty PS5s and mocking people complaining that they didn't get one, got himself doxxed in the process, and someone broke into his home and stole them all.

Again, that's just a thread I had seen on one of Wario64 (a guy who sends out "new stock" tweets if you're unfamiliar) so take everything above with a grain of salt but it wouldn't shock me.

This is similar cognitive dissonance seen elsewhere like when neo-nazis have hissy catty break-ups with other neo-nazis because they don't agree with being publicly labelled as nazis, or when trump supporters suddenly want everyone else to care about their feelings after spending years voting on, and pushing slogans varying around "fuck your feelings" ...it's basic b1tch self-awareness which a particular type of intersectional unempathetic mindset severely lacks, but which has served them fairly well thoughout life until it backfires on them. No lessons are usually learnt neither. The systems we have happily reward such behaviour, so why stop at all?

Fuck them then. You don't like the rep of being a scalper, then don't be a scalper. Fuck the name is literally SCALPER, the name itself is fucked up. If that wasn't a clue that doing such things makes you a walking talking piece of shit, then I don't know what to tell you.

A lot of people could have gotten some much needed joy out of being able to get a new console at retail price. Instead these pieces of shit decided to fuck over thousands of people for nothing more than selfish reasons. So fuck them, they can burn alive in their mountain of ill-gotten goods.

I know Jim has come out as gender fluid and good for they(?) but that wig and makeup. Jim looks hideous. It looks like a steampunk cosplay of Jimmy Savile.

Oh and fuck scalpers

Just another thing guys and gals, there are UK lawmakers that are trying to put a ban on scalpers with bots and regulations. So once again, we're in a case of where unchecked actions will have consequences, and people doing dumb crap want to start crying and acting like babies now.

Funny enough, the Nintendo Wii that I own and still have and works to this day was bought from a Scalper. (Friend of my Cousin)

All the above. I don't know the full details. You'll have to check them out yourself. I'm only looking at what I found in the video.

I suppose he doesn't have as much experience with it as biological girls do.

Fuck them scalpers. Fuck them up their decrepit asses with a 10ft long spike-studded superheated chainsaw strapped to a jackhammer, one of those big hydraulic ones they mount on an excavator.

Just a FYI, Jim has asked to go by They/Them rather than He/Him
And that's their right and its all good. Still this new persona Jim has adopted is terrible. They look clownish, and not in a fun way. In a creepy way. Like if it came out this new Jim with a trashy wig and caked on makeup has a pit where they keep kidnapped children I would absolutely believe it, such is the costume they're wearing.

Like I said earlier a steampunk Jimmy Savile.

For those interested, here is the article that Jim quotes.

Scalpers bulk-buy items at MSRP, which limits the stock available for legitimate customers, and then they try to resell the items for an unreasonable markup. I fail to see how any 3rd party can see scalpers as anything but assholes.

The article quotes one scalper who claims to be simply acting as an innocent middle-man, who tries to defend himself by saying that supermarkets do the same thing, and they resell produce bought from farmers for a significant profit, and his business is no different. Obviously this analogy doesn't really work, because he is already buying the items from large retailers, who likely have a wider reach than his scalping operation.

The same person also apparently has a heart of gold though, as he helps people resell their consoles for an inflated price, and he can be quoted as saying “I mainly just try and help others now, that’s all that really matters to me.". Sure.

They also try to spin it as some kind of benefit to the community, as he claims that he donates a large portion of his profits to charity, including a food bank - but failed to substantiate his claims. What an angel.

Ultimately, as one person quoted in the article put it: "he is deluded. -- He's not Robin Hood."

Have they tried to stop being scalpers?

I'd say that's like feeling bad for vultures having a bad rep, except no, that's wrong, vultures do have an important purpose in nature.
Scalpers are like landlordsparasites of the market. They contribute nothing, but create shortages and inflate prices.
