I saw Dream Theater once as a part of Prog Nation '09 which featured DT, Zappa Plays Zappa, Big Elf, and Scale the Summit. I saw Iron Maiden with DT opening for them which was amazing. I've also seen Coheed and Cambria and Porcupine Tree on separate occasions.

If you want a classic rock sounding band then you may want to check out Big Elf, they aren't that old but they capture the sound really well. You could also show some classic metal stuff like Black Sabbath. I would get some Iron Maiden in there too.
