For years it was. The pre-order stuff is total bullshit too. If your game is good, it will sell. No need for 5 characters from separate retailers to increase hype. All it does is sucker in people who may not have bought it otherwise, like with Brink and it's cluster of pre-order bonuses.

What's this about "points" for violence? Games grew out of points long ago, only multiplayer really uses it. It's like nobody cares to see how in-depth a game can get these days, and just see blood and killing and instantly conclude it's a violent kill-fest that corrupts the youth of the world...

I love steam. It has friends so I can play with people, the in game interface is great, and the sales are awesome. Right now the Total War games are on sale and Napoleon is 75 percent off. Best day ever. Christmas sale had tons of games for a couple dollars apiece. Not just old crappy games...

It depends on the game. In a game like Red Orchestra, you don't want to pop a fresh mag in after every kill. In Black Ops or Reach, it's a very good idea to keep a full magazine loaded at all times.

My sniper class doesn't have a sidearm, part of the reason I had to pick up quickscoping was that I decided to put a launcher as my secondary to get Ghost Pro. There are better ways to do it, but I ended up having fun picking people off with the added pressure of defending myself up close.

I think the Mass Effect series is pretty mature. It doesn't over-do gore and swearing, but manages to deal with things present in life, such as sex and drugs, in a mature way.
