I like the Mario games because of nostalgia. They remind me of the "good old days". That's basically it. It's not like they're holding the indsutry back or anything. They're basically just doing what they've always done.

As long as it can provide an interesting take on the Zelda franchise, then I don't see why not.

Of course they are. Discrimination is discrimination. Gender, race, sexual orientation is irrelevant. If a woman is allowed to be offended by a dongle joke, then men are certainly allowed to be offended by the word "penis".

For me the biggest problem is that the tone seems a bit inconsistent. The overall tone seems serious, while the gameplay remains fun and quirky, but as long as the game is fun, I don't think it's gonna be a huge problem.

Indeed. I think it will require a very seriuos upheaval before we see consoles going away completely. PC/console multiplayer crossover would be nice. I think it would ease a lot of the tension between console players and PC players.
