Wouldn't this thread be pointless then, and wouldn't it be like saying that "Common (physical) discussions between two or more people are pointless." Yet they fill you in on things you don't know and give you a broader perspective of the world around you and the people in it?

It's hard to explain but it just doesn't fit the "nerdy" kind of definition and perspective; if that makes any sense.
