I highly recommend you check out the side missions and little character moments throughout the game because some of them are messed up for a children's game. You said you like the game from a philosophical standpoint, and when you get right down to it, this is a game about the end of the world...

Before the Hyrule Historia made the timeline continuity canon, there was an interesting fan theory that the Zelda games were all the same story told through the lens of different cultures. I agree that creating the official continuity detracted from many of the games.

Thought this was the long-overdue Jabberjaws episode. Still insightful. I watched this show as a kid and I think even then I kind of rolled my eye at it.
