I'm cautiously optimistic about the game. So much of what I hear about it seems to be about the romance system which really makes the game sound shallow or the devs are trying to hide something. Otherwise it sounds like this game is just a singles cruise in space where sometimes shooting happens.

I hope it doesn't focus too much on "Building" things like Fallout 4 did. I remember there being an emphasis on building colonies on planets you explore and I don't want that to be a HUGE focus.

I'd say there's a lot of strategy to the game. You have to plan out your armor and weapon to what you're hunting. Monsters have elemental attack and weaknesses you have to exploit. Not to mention armor pieces grant abilities, and mixing and matching pieces from different sets is often necessary...

I actually already do things like grabbing small encounters from games. Dragon Age, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Dark/Demon's Souls, etc. Actually a really good way to bring some interesting encounters into what could otherwise be a boring part of a campaign.
