Yeah, the sword is pretty much like Castlevania. The Soul Edge/Inferno will always survive in one form or another. The same as goes for Soul Calibur, there must always be a wielder of both swords. Seigfried vs. Inferno....Good vs. Evil...Blue Aura vs. Red Aura...same kind of deal.

I threw cars at EVERYTHING. Those mini (understatement) bosses. Helicopters (especially). Those guys in their ice towers. Heck, I threw medical supplies at enemies because they are indestructible. One of the best ways to conserve energy IMO.
