Kinect Sports(not sure about the second one) was pretty fun.
Child of Eden is also supposedly a pretty good game as well.
Dance Central is good if you like dancing, equal entertainment watching others flail around as well.
EA had minimal part in the project, it was really only responsible for making it fiscally possible for Shank to be on the consoles(or at least the 360, don't know about the PS3) as well.
I personally was more annoyed by the atrocious load times the game had than I was it being published by...
I'd say it depends on how you play, what you tend to utilize more and what level stuff is unlocked at. If you use something like scavenger a lot, it might be worth an unlock since it isn't available until around level 38(I think).
I personally have unlocked guns, which helps with challenges...
I'd say it's an issue if it's ranked. 128 players is a clusterfuck of players and would be an insane amount of points for any decent player.
If it's unranked I see no reason why it'd matter.
Best bet is something to do with your graphics card, but given that you are running a laptop it's possible that it is also getting too hot whilst playing as well(which would still go back to the graphics card getting too hot).
I've yet to have any graphical glitching with the game, I have had...
I've always been a fan of limited health regeneration. Halo with it's regen shields and health only restoring is a good example.
Other games like Metal Gear Solid do something similar to this; where you need to use a ration or such to heal, but if you are near death your health will slowly...
Rich merchants and one day stock are the only things I'd flag as cheats, smelt weapons as well since getting metal out of that for crafting could make getting smithing up easier than it already is.
As for the rest though they seem to be fine to me.
Horses are slow as fuck, but that is kind...
I think that answers the question, if it fits the game's same concepts it doesn't need a rating, but if it does as you've mentioned to Total War, I think the DLC itself would get a slightly harsher rating than the game. It won't alter the game's rating itself though, as DLC is entirely optional.
It did seem like Jeb was doing all of the work lately, so this is pretty much a formality.
It'll be nice to see how Scrolls starts coming along now, assuming Notch will take on doing posts and such about that now.
