    Childhood Misconceptions

I used to think that there was a supernatural being that created the earth and people and everything else in the universe! Supposedly this guy had big plans for everything and everyone, but he wasn't too busy to listen if you had problems that you couldn't sort out on your own. He doesn't talk...

    Your Name.

My name is Richard, and I'm very happy with it. The only downside is that my last name begins and ends with R as well. That's a lot of R's when my full name is spoken aloud. I was named after my maternal grandfather. My nickname growing up was Ricky, and is still in use by relatives and...

    Good Sci-Fi Book Recommendations

WOOL by Hugh Howey http://tinyurl.com/9efwhke Amazing post-apocalyptic sci-fi. Howey's audience is growing pretty quickly, and with good reason. He's great at writing interesting characters and believable worlds. Also for a super short one, check out Howey's "The Plagiarist"...

    Unpopular Gaming Opinions

The Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game, and the art style and story were leagues above Twilight Princess. (I still love Ocarina, but I played it to death. Link to the Past was OK.) HALO: Reach was the best HALO game in the series by miles. ODST would be the runner up. The Elder...

What old game would you love to have a HD update of.

I see a lot of love for Deus Ex and Thief, but what about... System Shock 2! They basically remade it already with Bioshock. They kept the same narrative structure, and changed a few of the twists, but the story was very similar. Bring back Shodan and the cool cyberpunk style and those...

What old game would you love to have a HD update of.

Rock N'Roll Racing! It's an old Genesis and SNES game from the guys at Blizzard back when they were still called Silicon & Synapse. Awesome announcer, great soundtrack, cool characters, vehicles, weapons, you name it! This game was a blast. (I saw some guys are working on a fan update, but...

If you could erase the memory and start over with one game, what would it be?

Dark Souls. My first run through that game was EPIC! Danger around every corner. Each new enemy encountered required different timing or tactics to overcome. I remember dying a few times to the hydra in the Darkroot area before I could even SEE the beast. I saw the knight's body by the...

Best visual Movie with a poor story

I disagree with Hero and The Fall. They're two of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen, but I wouldn't say their stories were bad. I think the problem is the narrative structure is quite different from the typical flow of story found in most Western movies. Hero had a great...

games that left you stunned, staring at the credits in awe

Darksiders. I actually shouted something along the lines of, "F@#$ yeah!" when I saw War's brothers coming to join the party. This is probably the only time I really stood up and shouted with excitement at the end of a game. I'm not really sure why, but there you have it. Bastion had a...

That one game you want to be announced.

Anyone looking for the "real" Diablo 3 might want to check out Path of Exile. I've heard some good things about it. It's in beta right now, I believe.

That one game you want to be announced.

The game I want to see announced would be Psychonauts 2... or a new Toejam and Earl game. A few games that have been confirmed, but have no solid info on: Beyond Good and Evil 2 THI4F Half-Life 3 Successor to Dark Souls

Suggest me a western or two

Unforgiven and The Outlaw Josey Wales are my two favorite. Both starring Clint Eastwood, and both mentioned here already (but they deserved to be listed again). I'd also say The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Dances with Wolves, The Cowboys, and the Man with No Name trilogy.

Poll: Was it stupid of the Prometheus crew to take off their helmets?

I thought of Guy from Galaxy Quest every time they did something stupid. ESPECIALLY pulling off their helmets... "Is there air?! You don't know!!"
