I'm assuming you mostly mean nukes when you say "weapon stockpile". If so then there's no reason to worry, we (as in everyone) don't even have 1/20th of the nukes needed to wipe out all life on earth.

Just thought I'd point something out, TF2 can be played offline. Whether or not it's enjoyable is irrelevant since i could have fun running around the level shooting at walls, the point is it will run offline whereas Diablo 3 will not.

Honestly I have no problem with Steam having the monopoly since it is free and works fairly well. I don't like having to have two other services (aside from Steam) installed on my machine just to play games (some of which bought directly from Steam), but that's just my personal gripe.
