No worries, there'll soon be a "war" (if that's what everyone's calling endless war crimes against nations showing no aggression to America and the west) with Cuba to distract from all that too
We're gonna bring them freedom if we have to kill every last one of 'em to do it! God loves us, baby!

If you're a Mormon Lego alternative company for kids, what is the most appropriate name you'd give your business? Yes, of course, of course you'd name it "Brick 'em Young" lmao

The US Attorney's office has subpoenaed Reddit for the information of a user who criticized ICE.

The summons cited authority under 19 U.S. Code § 1509, which is part of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930. The motion to quash said the summons is not authorized by the law, which deals with imports of boats, alcoholic drinks, and animals, among other things.
Look, it's a law, and MAGA will tell you that the purpose of any law is to let Trump do whatever he wants.

"Ice is used in alcoholic drinks. This guy is criticizing ICE. That's enough of a link, right?"

You know what’s really galling about this, in a very weird way? They’re not even abusing their authority properly. A 1930s era tariff law being used for what is essentially an electronic intercept? What was the PATRIOT ACT not sufficient for this? Or any number of laws made in support of law enforcement and intelligence agencies for requesting electronic data since 2001?

Hunter, your father pardoning you was the one act that looms over his legacy as president as an unquestionable black mark. Your role ought to be to accept not living in the limelight but taking some cushy role for financial stablity without embarrassing yourself further. This is the precise opposite of that.

Though, I'm sure that there's lots of other things that loom over his legacy as well, it's just that the genocide tends to overshadow them due to it being a genocide.

Can we just lock them all in a cabin somewhere, and then shove it off a cliff?

I only hope that Orban remembered to have his couches cleaned after Vance left.

While that's really funny and shows what a wretch Vance is we shouldn't have many expectations. Orban still owns pretty much the entire state and the stakes to stay in power are very high. Even if he won't get in prison for corruption or literal high treason, then Orban losing several years he could have had to rob the state blind is a big ask for him. Why not just cheat and keep strangling Hungary for fun and profit?

As long as the current results hold Orban won’t just lose the election but his opponent will also have the 2/3rd majority needed to prevent Orban loyalists strangling his government.

Full scale liberation from Orban seems in the cards.

Looks like JD Vance failed to get Orban reelected, and failed to get the Strait of Hormuz reopened. Embarrassing week for Trump's smarmy little stooge.

All that remains now is to wait and see how the new government is going to behave itself.

I think when power is passed normally as a result of regularly scheduled elections, you don't call that "liberation".

You do call it that when the departing government has spend year stealing everything that's not nailed down, crippling democracy and committing high treason on behalf of the Russians. Given Orban's hostility to his own electorate he's the one who viewed his departure as a liberation he'd best deprive his country of. Otherwise he hadn't spend so much effort into rigging everything in his favor in between his thieving.

You're right that if Rob Jetten were to run against Jesse Klaver and lose it would indeed be a normal election instead of a liberation. Idem dittoo with Sanchez and whatever normal conservative would run against him. But in Hungary it wasn't a regularly scheduled election between two normal politicians, but against a corrupt traitor against a normal politician. It inherently is not the same and should not be treated as such.
