Is worth understanding the facts behind mkukltra, cos I foolishly assumed for too long it was just a stoner conspiracy theory, but the reality is so much more grim and an unsettling mess of where "anti-communist" derangement syndrome leads people, especially lead poisoned people. Am appreciative of how this video is clear of what is known and what is left to speculation in no small part due to the intentional destruction attempts of evidence by Western governments

(Is it worth posting sources? Does anyone care at all?)

Only sickos would subject themselves to bill maher, so....

You'll be waiting a long time, since you've provided nothing new on that question.

But on the question we were actually discussing now-- whether distancing and covering one's sneezes can limit transmission-- you've finally joined the rest of us in reality! Congratulations! 🥳
It's on you to prove your claim, not on me to disprove it.

Covering sneezes and coughs helps limit transmission but that is something we've been doing long before covid. Thus, telling me how much active virus is in a sneeze is rather pointless because people don't get sneezed on. That's not a route the flu or covid or RSV is transferring to people.

The places people were "forced" to distance weren't places people were transmitting upper respiratory infections to begin with, thus it wasn't anything that helped.

"Better dead than red" was more than just a slogan back then. Some people in the government genuinely thought that Communism was such an existential threat that anything done to defeat it was acceptable.

If you say so. Anyway, we weren't discussing that now, were we? We were discussing covering & distancing!

Covering sneezes and coughs helps limit transmission [...]
Thank you once again for conceding this point! It was strange that you argued for so long that it doesn't do anything at all, but i'm happy you came around.

So, fun fact, when I was a neuroscience postdoc at one of the UK's more eminent universities, and because we're kind of public employees who are supposed to be accessible so our contact details are publicly available, I occasionally got some... interesting... emails from members of the public.

One was from a Bulgarian conspiracy theorist resident in Australia trying, I think, to enlist me to research how rich people use CIA-derived mind control techniques to ensure only they can get good-looking women. I'm not replying to that crazy shit, but I did do a brief check on who he was. Apparently he was considered quite the sex pest. One particular complainant detailed his harassment of both her and a friend, and recommended other women should steer well clear. But then I checked who she was, and she turned out to be a conspiracy theorist who claimed to be an ex-CIA agent who had used their mind control devices (and had a load of codenames which were implausibly sexy/glamorous like "blue angel", lol.)

Many conspiracy theories have some kernel of truth that originated them.

So because of the idiots that stole the F-35 designs and other naval ship designs, Alysa Liu ( who almost no one likes(Other than elitist Asian Hollywood) even in China (They view her as an opportunistic mercenary), and Chinese people who want stronger passports, and access to US unis and don't actually contribute to broader US society who then go back to China. Honest Chinese-Americans like myself have to endure this crap. Xi's own daughter is in Boston.

You want to know why I hate the US healthcare system, it's because if you get for example cancer like my dad, and can't pay for it due to your company kicking you off your health insurance (China's the same with surgeries), thanks to Newt Gingrich and that jackass Clinton whom people love in the 2000s - 2010s all medicaid expenses have to come out of your house unless you declare a trust by age 49, and my family(with my help) only brought our house past that, but my dad got cancer after that. So a good chunk if not the whole 480-500K house that my family owns belongs to the feds, and the state government unless I don't have a good job, and I can say it would adversely effect me which I do have a good job.

But some people can just hop over a border, and or ride a plane, and not contribute anything. Some people can compromise the F-35, and Ford Class Carrier designs and not get the death penalty (If I do a mass shooting I will, but if they get 1000+ US military members dead in a future conflict they won't). Some people can betray the country that build them to where they are at for money and not get their US passport revoked (A. Liu).

Fuck them, and fuck this world.

I've been literally discussing that for 4 months, I stay on point and you don't.

I never said that. I said that using how much viral particles are in a sneeze to demonstrate how easy it is to transmit a virus is rather pointless. That is the evidence that you used to prove your point from 4 months ago that, again, I've always stayed on point discussing.

I never said that.
Really? You never said that covering one's coughs and sneezes doesn't do anything? Shall we have a look?

Masks and washing hands don't work.
there's no evidence that masks work.
there was literally no evidence saying masks worked then.
There is at least a scientific majority saying cloth masks don't do anything or very very little. [...] The RCTs show masks don't work.
I know masks (unless something like an N95) don't do anything to prevent colds/flus/covid.
Yeah, those definitely don't do anything, the 300,000+ person RCT of masks showed that cloth masks do nothing.
We knew basic masks don't do anything from like the flu already.
We also still don't have anything that states masks have literally any efficacy but you still say they do something.
Guess what happens when you search for masking + flu + limit the search to before 2020? Every single fucking article/study/epidemiologist/infectious disease expert says masks don't work.
There's basically no evidence that masking did anything because a face mask isn't going to stop you from getting sick from family/friends/coworkers that are sick because the virus is airborne and masks don't help against airborne transmission.
That's less than halfway through a search of your posts containing the word 'mask'.

And that’s weird. Covid was years ago and the idea that fraudsters who wanted it to run wild secretly being correct is as weird now as it was then

"Pam Bondi was a well-respected member of this administration and blah blah blah in the garbage she goes."
Pam Bondi got fired because Trump gave her two impossible tasks, both of which she - understandably - failed at. She couldn't prosecute all Trump's personal enemies because there weren't cases against them, and the Epstein files were impossible to hide after Trump had made releasing them such a seminal issue in his election campaign.

But she's still a winner: her time as AG, the insider knowledge of government and the links she made there will be worth a fortune in the private sector, so she will make vast millions. That's the way the world often works for elites like her: even when they fail, they still win.

Hegseth is going to be shocked as hell when his policy results in more gun violence on military bases.

...wait, no he won't. He just won't care.

The first one was impossible because Trump didn't want "prosecutions" as the American justice system knows them; he wanted kangaroo courts and political opponents railroaded into lifetime prison sentences, because that's what all his cool autocrat friends do. However, there are still too many judges in the country who actually follow the law rather than kowtow to his whims for him to get it to happen.

And the second one was impossible because Trump can't grasp the idea that other people have a longer memory span than he does.

It’s vexing how that freak is just one heartbeat away from the presidency. An elderly obese heartbeat to boot.

And aside from his hypocrisy Vance words highlight he is indeed a freak. He says Orban is right on Ukraine when Orban’s hole stance on the matter is pro Russian treason. Literal high treason even as it turns out.

Vance says Orban advocates ferociously for his country and western civilization but as a pro Russian leader Orban is automatically opposed to those very things. Orban has repeatedly shown himself loyal to the fundamental opposite of western civilization.

Sure, but he also isn't Trump. Even if Trump dies, Vance doesn't necessarily inherit Trump's cult, without which he may have far less leverage over his party and be forced to bargain more. Plus that the Democrats are very likely to retake the House and maybe the Senate, which would allow them to impose limits, which even despite their lily-livered, half-hearted pseudo-opposition is not nothing either.

He says Orban is right on Ukraine when Orban’s whole stance on the matter is pro Russian treason.
Vance certainly appears pro-Russia (and/or anti-Europe?), for whatever reason. Trump I think is not pro-Russia per se; more that he has an affinity for it and its authoritarian leader, plus potential business interests.

When we say Orban has been handing top secret EU communications to Moscow... he's almost certainly been sending them to Washington as well*. And I wouldn't be surprised if Beijing too. The Trump administration are very keen to keep him because he offers a tool to interfere with and even cripple the EU. If Orban wins the election (polls suggest he should lose, but he might cheat), I think the EU needs to suspend or eject Hungary as a security measure.

However, I think the Trump administration is constrained by some political reality. Trump has threatened to abandon Ukraine, and yet not: indeed, a few months ago slapped additional extra sanctions on Russia which seemed to be effective (even if the Iran war has undermined them). Trump clearly is not afraid of dramatic and radical action, so why has he not abandoned Ukraine? This makes me suspect that he sort of can't: along the lines that to just abandon Ukraine could cause some sort of critical rupture in US domestic politics or international relations that makes it too painful. He can, of course, find all sorts of creative ways to undermine Ukraine, which it feels like he is doing.

* If the USA even need Orban, and aren't just ordering Microsoft and other US tech companies to hand over all EU business going through their systems.
