But I can't say it bothers me much. The 'feels' from the last strip where still had and what I assume the desired effect was gotten, and with the break, It's gone from 'feels a character died' to 'feels they're back'

Agreed. Plus, this is probably gonna be how Cory and Grey are expanding the cast. Totally-not-Sonic and Depressing Erin need some support characters.

I'm sticking to the theory that she is currently dying, alone, and this is her mind's way of coming to grips with her life before letting go.
