Too bad there's no stats screen so we could check. (Or a properly implemented save feature)

Either way, I'm happy not knowing as the truth is a number faaaar too large.
I've been playing PC games for 14 years (console for probably 16-17) and gaming has been my #1 hobby most of that time.

If I had to guess, maybe 2.5 (I spent most of my middle school and a couple of my high school summers doing nothing else, since I lived in a small & remote town)

Past 4 years [http://www.xfire.com/profile/daz56/] I've played (much) more than 3,119 hours. Not all my games are on xFire and I've spent a lot of time on my DS and PS2.

I can't remember how much I played games as a kid, but it wouldn't be much less. I'm confident I have spent at least whole year out of my 20 playing games.

And that right there, is fucking insane.

I spent zero hours from birth through age five.
Spent maybe an hour a week max from age five through age eleven.
Spent easily 40 hours a week from age eleven through nineteen.
Probably averaged around 25 hours from age 19-27.
20 hours from age 27-32 while I was married.
Past six months I've spent a lot more time gaming, closer to 35 hrs/week.

So...adding up those rough estimates...

0x260 + 1x312 + 40x416 + 25x416 + 20x260 + 35x26 = 33,462 hours (approx.)

Divided by 8765.81277 leaves 3.817 years, or approximately 3 years and 10 months spent gaming. 11.6% of my life, or 2.79 hours a day, every day.

In point of fact, that doesn't actually sound so bad. Wouldn't we all like to have almost 3 hours a day to do what we love most?

Probably coming up on a year. Not that much though. Spent more time travelling than gaming so I haven't got a problem yet.

oh god, I dread to think how much of my life i have spent playing games. Having done so for the last 16 years, its got to be somewhere between 1 & 2, or maybe more XD
The amount of time on KOTOR alone is insane

Obviously more than i should considering my WoW character alone i made when the Burning Crusade came out had around 250 days of playtime by the time i quit WoW..and i played vanilla before..and other games, and games after that. So yeah, easily could get a year out of 4 years of WoW alone and i started playing videogames 20 years ago?
Guess it would avarage out on 4-5 years.

Over 200 days in total on Runescape before I quite. I know, I'm ashamed of me too.

Then we have over 900 hours on Oblivion, another 200 on Fallout 3. Many hundreds on Pokemon, I'd say about 600 hours total considering how many times I've got a 50+ hour save and restarted, only to get another one. And that's on at least one game of every generation.

Ocarina of Time run throughs 12 times.

Probably another 300 hours on Neverwinter Nights..

On every other game? Easily another thousand plus.

I'm way too tired to total that, so anyone who feels like making a decent guess is welcome too. Add in another 200 ish hours as a variable for things I haven't considered that will have used up a lot of time.

Judging by the counter for exactly how many hours I spent on anime in my life (a site I keep a list of what I've seen totals it for you), and how surprised I was by how large that total was, I'd say games have taken at least a good 1.5-2 years, if not closer to 2.2-ish. That's just a completely rough guess though.
