1000 mph rocket car!

This is a trailer for a car that is being made to break the 1000mph barrier on land. It is powered by a jet engine and a rocket, with a fomula 1 engine for auxilery power. I find this amazing, especially with the bullet near the end.

It is truly a mans toy.

Very impratical, It uses one tonne of fuel, every 20 seconds. Also the 800hp race car engine is just to power the pump for the fuel. So it's pretty much the least pratical machine ever invented. But god it's fast...

Probally for tests, to make sure it's safe for a driver, and for permission to use the land. The only place they found long enough to test it's top speed was a salt pan in the middle of africa that stretches for 12 miles.

Sounds great. If it crashes at 1000mph will it blow a hole in the earth?
