Next: Transgender and waistline trimming. Plus by the time he completes it he wont even be able to fit in it correctly.

It wouldn't be hard to just paint it blue and make some minor changes for a Megaman suit.

Either case that kid has good taste in role models.

Too bad for it not being ready for Halloween but who ever makes a costume like that almost has to show it off at comic-con(any will do). Also it's amazing the amount of time some fans will put in when they wan't to show off their love for a game, comic, tv show, movie

And then his classmates remembered that Samus is a girl.

That might be the most awesome cosplay item I've ever seen, and that includes the Steampunk x-men... Even the vodka dispensing wheelchair.
A short, male Samus... well, it IS Halloween, and I--with my high voice and short stocky frame--was Vader last year, so I should just shut up now.

Were it ever mentioned how Samus got her armour?
There are gender neutral clothes and equipment.
Well the Chozo custom-built it for her based off of their own battle suits, so presumably there could be male versions. Which reminds me, we haven't heard from the Chozo in a Metroid game lately...

Doesn't this count as cross dressing?
well if it's specifically meant to be a Samus cosplay then yes it's cross dressing, unless there's some kind female only restriction on power suits...
Depends on if he's putting a chest on it, and also...

on a side note will he be wearing this under neath the suit of armor?

Cross-dressing...

Still, you can't help, but to be impressed, by the detail put into the costume.

And then nintendo steps in claiming an incringement on their intellectual property but as hes has finished it he can keep it till october 30th but must then burn it.

While it is nice, it's a shame that he'll outgrow it in a couple of years.
Maybe he has a little sister he can pass it on to

I wish him best of luck. Seems pretty cool.

But he's not allowed to talk while wearing it, because as we all know, Samus doesn't have a voice. End of story.
How bout we compromise he can talk if he first gets himself lobotomised to keep with the speech pattern established in the last game

Ah Samus cosplay, the only way to crossdress at a convention and not look like an idiot.

If he does I'm pretty sure we can take it as sign that there is no God (at least not a sane or merciful one)

Hurray for 11-year-olds crossplaying!

Well, Samus is awesome, so it doesn't matter what gender you are. I'd dress up as Samus if I could.
