Perv on a Japanese Schoolgirl in Tekken Team's Project Morpheus Demo

Well, the Tekken team has certainly made its audience clear...

Oh Japan. I mean, I'm sure that when VR first started gaining traction, people were wondering how they were going to find more... perverted uses of the technology, but you wouldn't have thought Sony would use such a demo in its official, pre-Tokyo Games Show press conference? Well, that's pretty much exactly what has happened, as the Tekken team has used the press conference to announce "Summer Lesson" - a Project Morpheus game where you perv on a Japanese school girl.

Summer Lesson puts the player in said school girl's room, where players will interact with the girl... in some way. That's about all the solid details we were able to ascertain from the short demo, but it had a very, very creepy voyeuristic feel about it, particularly when the player would get too close to the girl and she would pull back in discomfort.

The player is also shown nodding, or shaking their head, in response to the girl's yes or no questions.

While it's not explicitly explicit, it's certainly somewhat... disappointing to see Sony appealing to such a base instinct, particularly with all that female representation in video games controversy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/137184-Anita-Sarkeesian-and-Gamers-Against-Games] flowing around the web recently.

The demo will be playable at this year's Tokyo Game Show, which we will be attending, so we will be sure to update once we've gone hands (or eyes?) on with it.

Why can't japan just get off its perverse fascination with a being a high school student with all its awkward bullshit. I'd swear that judging by their entertainment industry you'd think that life just ends for the Japanese man when he gets his diploma out of high school.
Life gets way more interesting out of highschool but maybe thats just for west. Maybe in japan you go to college and then march off to your 12 hour a day 6 days a week cubical job and stay there till you commit suicide in your depressing tiny tokyo apartment.

Because That's technically the truth, especially if you're just a run of the mill salaryman, handing off his paycheck each month to his wife.

It sadly works like that. The moment you get out of high school, you're into the slog of work, something japan is quite well known for. You don't respect your boss if you don't work over time either. Hell, if a worker sleeps on the job, it shows how much dedication they have for the company...

As for the video, I'd have to watch it first to be able to see if it is as creepy as this article states. But from the thumbnail, it reminds me of 3D animated hentai. Don't ask.

It's sad how true this is.

Also, it's Japan, of course the first thing they'll do with any technology is make porn for people from the west to import.

What needs to be asked, it's pretty self-explanatory.

OT: Well duh. Anybody expected Japanese game developers not to make something like this the moment they got their hands on a VR system? Ogling girls sells like hotcakes in Japan, just look at current anime. Sure, so it does in the West, but we tend to be a bit more discreet.

But yeah, to see Sony show it off at a prominent games con... They must wanna sell the PS4 in Japan pretty bad.

#1 Does it make money?
#2 Is it legal?
#3 Is it a completely optional purchase?
#4 Is it safe i.e. doesn't cause any direct harm to anyone?

If "yes" is the answer to all 4 of the above, then such things will continue being produced for the foreseeable future (#1 being key).

...and I see nothing wrong with that. I hope most logical people would agree.

Lol, actually one of the most well known Adult Game developer already has development plans by digitizing JAV Actress.
Playgirls by Illusion (Infamously know for the Rapelay incident), it's being made for the Oculus Rift though.

I think it was revealed by another adult game developer, that makes 3D animated adult content, that they would use the oculus for something quite similar. I'd rather have a screen that's further away from my eyes, but that's personal taste.

Then again, Like I said I think, I have to watch that vid before I go on any further. Next I know, It's just harmless stuff really.

Pretty much.

I don't have anything more to say now since you said it except the bit of insight on Japanese salary man was kind of interesting though I have no idea if it's true.

I'm not surprised Japan leads the perv charge.

Then again this is probably quite mild compared to what we'll be faced with if VR becomes popular. I'll just leave that potential horror to your imagination.

That wasn't racy as I thought it would be. If the person is perving out using morpheus, it would be equivalent to person holding R1 during cutscenes in Metal Gear Solid 3 to get a good look at Eva's breasts.

Only a matter of time until the breast physics developers get their hands on the tech.

The unfortunate reality, and I realize many people will find this difficult to accept, is that if this tech or rather these devices want to ever have a chance of succeeding in a huge way then the porn industry - especially the animated porn industry (which yes is millions of times huger than most people posting here are probably aware as its not just japan in to this stuff in a big way), is going to have to do very well with it initially.

Porn actually helped people accept dvd as a format in a huge way. Online video streaming - again porn industry really made it become a huge thing.

Its a sad truth but a very real one; porn always helps drive innovation and acceptance of certain technologies. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the number one selling application for virtual headsets in the future is some kind of porn sim game.

Depressing perhaps but then that's humanity for you.

Please show the sources you used to come to the conclusion that the "average" Japanese salary man loses control over his money to his wife.

Can't find a better exact source, it's because most of it that I heard came directly from my Japanese friends.
