I think that's a hallucination of a bonsai tree. EDIT: The first post would seem to verify that.lacktheknack said:Alternatively, she eats the fungus that grows on her mail.
:0 Oh my God....... D: It's not really Rad Panda!CaitSeith said:Wait, if Rad hasn't seen her since she was 8 years old, how does he know she hasn't left her condo for at least two years?
Definitely going for that early 90s "cool" platformer character vibe.iniudan said:I did guess right, that red panda is Sonic. =)
If you looked at the TV screen, in the comic, you should easily notice a Sega Genesis style Sonic game start screen with Rad Panda replacing the titular character.Sofox said:Definitely going for that early 90s "cool" platformer character vibe.iniudan said:I did guess right, that red panda is Sonic. =)
But to be honest, Sonic isn't the only one that fits the style. We've got Cool Spot, Puggsy (especially when you've got both the shades and white sneakers powerup at the same time), ToeJam & Earl (though with a more hip-hop angle) and so on. 90s Cool was kinda big at the time so there were many games that took advantage of it, and after Sonic, a host of games with fuzzy main characters too. Rad Panda was very clearly born of that era, but not necessarily a stand in for any single character.
Well Rad's game logo is pretty much the same as the one used for Sonic CD so I think it's pretty safe to say that's the source of inspiration here.Sofox said:Definitely going for that early 90s "cool" platformer character vibe.iniudan said:I did guess right, that red panda is Sonic. =)

Actually it got a ring around him with stars on it, making it more Genesis then CD (which got a winged ring). Which is how the original Sonic game is presented along Knuckle version of the 1 and 2, with the exception Knuckles replacing Sonic. Sonic 3 is also pretty similar but they replaced the stars with paws.Ulquiorra4sama said:Well Rad's game logo is pretty much the same as the one used for Sonic CD so I think it's pretty safe to say that's the source of inspiration here.Sofox said:Definitely going for that early 90s "cool" platformer character vibe.iniudan said:I did guess right, that red panda is Sonic. =)

I never actually played the Genesis version so I completely forgot what that even looked like. But you're right! that's way more accurate.iniudan said:Actually it got a ring around him with stars on it, making it more Genesis then CD (which got a winged ring).
