I'm 16. I feel like I've been stuck at 16 for too long.

In Britain, the only advantage to this is that you can now have sex. However, since the majority of youthful youths getting sex are going to end up in prison, destitute or dead, and for some reason are all as ugly as hell and think otherwise, I'm not too worried about not having taken advantage of this government-given gift.

Also, for some reason I can be treated mostly like an adult, with prices being hiked up, but I can't do adult things. Curse thee capitalism!

I didn't celebrate my 16th birthday. Unless playing through most of my games on the hardest difficulty and switching to another one the moment I died counts as celebrating.

When I was a kid I saw my future 16 year old self being a lot more sober.
Didn't quite pan out that way, wouldn't change a thing.

16, eh? I was having fun with friends, my grades were slipping, and my job really sucked. The NHL lockout was in full swing, nearly killing my love for the sport. I didn't know it then but that wound would never heal and my love of hockey now isn't anywhere near where it was pre-lockout. NHL 2005 came out and for the first time I could say that I wasn't the best amongst my friends at a sports game. My love of movies was just beginning with movies like Identity and Kill Bill topping my recent favourites. It was around this time that my family really started to break apart further. My brother and father could no longer live in the same house and I too was following that path. All in all, 16 was an okay year but it was the year my personal decline was at its worst. It was the year that I really defined myself though. I can honestly say that I am almost the same person now as I was then.

As a kid I saw my 16 year old self as a hard-studying highschool student well on his way to success. Yep, that didn't happen. Stupid kid, I was.

Well... Waaaaay back last year I was... Much the same as I am now, just more intelligent. I always think I'm intelligent, then I'll think back a year and think "what an idiot, it's a good thing I'm smart now!"

16 is the year I started trying out alcohol, and at first I had no idea how much I could take, so I always fell asleep or threw up etc..

I was too much of a geek at 16, I first learned how to look decent, and how to behave around girls at about 17, or something.

Seriously, get some nice looking clothes and be a little awesome, I really wish I had done that at 16.

Happy B-day but as to what to do...hmmm...I am at a loss. The real fun doesn't start till 18 but lets see. 16 wasn't all that big for me even more so because I had just moved or was about to move (being in a Navy family, it all blurs together). Anyway, go out on the town with your buds and have some fun dude.

Meh, 16 was more of the same in every way. So was 17. And 18. And I suspect the same will be true of 19, except I'll be able to legally get too drunk to care.

I finally grew into my skull that year. Which is fantastic.
But quoted because I went through quite the contrary, completely destroying my life.

Yeah 16 is pretty good. Its the last year you do nothing and get away with it. Take advantage of that and have fun.

And happy birthday!
