First Plot Details for Resident Evil 4: Afterlife Revealed.

The first details of the fourth installment of the Resident Evil movie franchise have been announced.

It was confirmed back in July [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/92896-Milla-Jovovich-Signs-up-for-More-Resident-Evil] that a fourth Resident Evil movie was in the works, and that Milla Jovovich had signed up to reprise her role as Alice, the series' protagonist. Resident Evil 4: Afterlife will take the action back into an urban setting; specifically a zombie-infested Los Angeles. The relatively short plot synopsis reads:

"In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend."

"A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap."

Personally, I'm rather pleased that the action is heading back to the city, because the Mad Max-esque desert thing that Resident Evil: Extinction [http://www.amazon.com/Resident-Evil-Extinction-Widescreen-Special/dp/B000YPUF9W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1278694428&sr=1-1] had going on seemed like a strange split from what the themes of the games had been. Whether or not the new setting means that the movie will be good or not, however, is an entirely different question.

That picture of the top is a rather clear copy from Resident Evil 5 so Im assuming they might use a few characters from that and it looks like Wesker throwing the glasses too but I thought in the movies he was head of Umbrella back in the Desert. Hmmm still could be worth watching

I hope this movie is good. I really do.

And I hope that Alice has her Mary Sue aspects dialed down a bit. In the last movie she basically became the dominant species on the planet, all by herself.

And as its still april 1st im doubting if this is real or not. Not that I really care either way the plot doesnt change in any of the films.
