God yes, Resi 1 and 2 are absolute must plays. Code Veronica is worth it if you invest in the plot, otherwise it's not essential. Although a fun shooter, 4 was the beginning of the end for me. Ignore any spin-offs though, that includes Zero.Catkid906 said:

If this movie doesn't have Leon and Ada I'll be upset...it has 4 in the title following Resident Evil and that's the game that made me love gaming again to the point of eroticism...if they fuck up anything with Resident Evil 4 in the title they'll be sure to be burned in the deepest darkest pits of hell

The reason for the 3rd movie's setting, that I remember from an interview, is that the director was talking to a young niece or nephew, or family relative, and they said "What's Road Warrior?" (something along those lines).
At that point, he realized that the younger generation didn't know what Mad Max or Road Warrior was,...so he had to show them.

I really just don't like these movies should be called "Resident Evil". I mean, why not star a badass like Leon or Chris? It's a bit upsetting.

Dang. I was really hoping for a movie based off of Resident Evil 4. That may or may not be a good movie, but I would watch an RE4 movie.
