I'm turning 18 this Wednesday, and my mom is planning to take me out to dinner that Saturday, but on Wednesday I basically don't have to do crap.

So I was just wondering, what did all you 18 and ups do on your 18th birthday?

And to everyone under 18 what do you want to do on your 18th birthday?

I was 18 last June; I hired a room, invited a bunch of my friends and we all got drunk. Then we went into the town to get more drunk. It was a good night.

I'm 18 now. When I had my 18th, I basically had a huge party where I invited a load of friends from my old school, and we had some family friends round too. That was the night after the actual birthday, on my birthday itself my parents and younger brother took me to a local pub for a meal, and my grandmother (who's always liked to surprise us) surprised me by already being there, waiting for us, and treating us all to the dinner herself. I hadn't actually expected her to be there, though she was coming to the party the next night.

I didn't really have the likes of a huge massive 18th party where everyone gets drunk and ends up sleeping on the floor in piles of their own vomit, like you see on MTV and so on. I saved that for after...

Anyway, for my 18[sup]th[/sup] I did the usual - got wrecked, had a great time and suffered a mean hangover the next morning.

Not very original but fun nonetheless.

I didn't get a party for my 18th. I went to a friends birthday party, everyone forgot it was my birthday too.

I turn 18 in September. It's a little nerve-wracking, actually. Depending on whether there's anything good in the cinema or not, I may or may not go out to see a film with my friends on my 18th. I'll probably end up doing two separate things; I'll go out for a meal with my girlfriend, and something more casual like the aforementioned cinema trip with my friends.

Of course, if they're not adverse to nerding it up for my birthday, I'll get a bunch of my friends and my girlfriend round to my house, get some pizza, rent some bad movies, and have an MST3K party.

Aw yeah.

I actually really dislike these sorts of parties. What makes it worse is that all my friends love them; they think I'm weird.

I was 18 in November, on the day I went out with my family and bought my first legal drink (and didn't get ID'd, damng it!)
The day after I had a party, I hired out a big room with a bar, and a DJ and a big buffet, everyone had to dress up (so girls in pretty dresses, guys in black tie) and danced and ate and drank and in general had an awesome time.
