Wooot, Gobliins is back!

A new game in the classic point and click series will probably be out this year, loved the last one, loved 2 and 3. Its on the 'buy as soon as possible' list.

Played the demo for Pragmata on PS5, this game really wasn't on my radar but after playing what I'm guessing is an early in game area, I'm pretty impresseed. You play as a guy in a robot suit who fires guns and has a little girl robot sidekick called Diane who can hack things. So when in combat, you use Diane's hacking ability, which is a mini game in itself, to weaken the enemy so its easy for shooty gun bloke (whose name I honestly can't remember) to shoot. The game actually reminds me of games like Binary Domain and Vanquish (minus the rocket suit).

Well done Capcom, I am officially interested.

Same here. I was very pleasantly surprised and have it on my radar now too.

Does the hacking feel cumbersome, because everything I've seen of the gameplay looks like it would annoy me. I just wanna shoot things and the last thing a firefight needs is to pause in the middle of it to solve a rubix cube.

Well, that's kind of the whole idea, it doesn't pause, you're supposed to do it during the fight, you're meant to multitask. Paying attention to both at once is kind of where the challenge of it is supposed to be.

Oh okay, no thanks I'm too stupid to do that.

What is RCR?
River City Ransom, an NES game that AFAIK was the first cross between an open-world RPG and a beat-em-up. It was a significant inspiration for the Scott Pilgrim franchise, and the first SP game had a lot of elements of RCR; however, since it applied them to a linear stage-based brawler, the RPG elements kinda brought the experience down.

I thought it would be annoying when it was first introduced, but it flows pretty smoothly,. You aim with the shoulder triggers like any other third person shooter and the face buttons dictate which direction you move in, the best thing I can describe it as is, Pipe Dream, it takes a bit of practice to get used to. But its introduced in a gentle way so it isn't overwhelming. I'm sure it gets more involved as the game goes on, but I didn't struggle with it.

Try the demo, you might get on with it more than you think. And if not, think of the money you've saved:)

Mouse PI for Hire

The Mermaid Mask AKA the 3rd Detective Grimoire game

Animal Use Protocol - honestly playing as a non human character in a Survival horror style game sounds very interesting.

Showa's American Story - Weird post apocalyptic Japanese madness, I'm in

Sloppy Forgeries - This just look like silly fun, I don't even care about the multiplayer idea I just want to randomly try to do copies on famous paintings in a limited time frame.

Motorslice - giant bosses and some destruction physics it seems mechanically interesting
