Renting all my console games at the moment, until I can get myself set up with my own consoles in my own place so will definately add this to the list.

If the story and characters are that good though I may have to buy it when I do

Ya know, after hearing Kotic's plan of selling the starcraft cutscenes as a movie I thought he was an idiot. But the snippet of cutscene at the end of the review makes me think that if they did the same thing for this game I probably would pay to see it.

I probably will rent the game though.

Wait... you mean it's actually good?

And there's no PC version.

God fucking damnit. This is the first game since the Team Ico titles that I have actually cared about missing out on.

Oh well. Thank goodness for youtube.

I'm sure I'm not the only who wants this game to rent or at least buy for half price. If you live in Australia then you're in luck! [http://www.play-asia.com/Enslaved_Odyssey_to_West/paOS-13-71-dw-49-en-70-3x2t.html] Region free and only half the cost in $AU. The last time I bought a game that I wasn't 100% sure about (Just Cause 2) I deeply regretted it, so this time I'm going for a less taxing price. Really can't wait for this.

NOTE: I'm not advertising at least not intentionally, but if you have a problem then I'll edit my post.

Actually looks really cool. Seriously though, outta curiosity, just how many games are there based on Journey to the West? In my mind there aren't enough, which is a shame because it seriously kicks ass.

I also gotta laugh outta the hoverdisk named cloud.

I think I'll buy this if I can...

This is the type of game making one should reward, high quality work that takes itself seriously.

I would. Without question, I would.

You still need the gameplay to fill in the blanks still I'd say. And if you own the game you probably have them anyway.

Oh wow. I was on the fence about getting this one, but this definitely made my decision for me.

And you were spot on about the quality of the voice work and all. I've never chuckled at a line (that wasn't an actual joke) in a videogame like I just did at "... So I'll be back.". It was a genuine, amused chuckle and not the "Oh I see that was supposed to be funny I get it," reflex that I generally have with games. I can even think of a few movies and television series that don't match that level of delivery.

... That, and I love the look of the landscape. And the robots. Can't forget the robots.

I get that Monkey is not the dame-rescuing type, but did Trip even attempt to, you know, ask nicely? Surely Monkey is not willing to go on a grand quest at the drop of a hat, but surely he is also not evil.

I'll rent this game for sure, but the plot is just a touch convoluted and that's kind of a problem.

I wanted to avoid spoilers of any kind, so let's just say that Trip has a fair reason to expect that Monkey would've said no.

This is easily the best storytelling I've seen in games.

Makes me want to try their last effort, Heavenly Sword.

I've been looking forward to this game ever since I heard about it. Now I REALLY can't wait!

*adds Enslaved game to "Games To Buy List"*

*looks over list*

Wow. This is getting long... and expensive...

Of all the stories to base a game on, Journey West is far from your worst choice. It's not a story you hear about all that often, and I enjoyed comparing the items (headband, staff, cloud) to things from the book, and I'd like to see if there are any other crossovers. I'm sure there are. A boss that is a big with a rake, maybe?

I may have to get this game.
