Devil May Cry: The Movie

This trailer for the Ghanaian take on Devil May Cry needs to be seen to be believed.

All of a sudden, Ninja Theory's take on the Devil May Cry series doesn't seem so bad does it?

The swirling vortex of madness to the right there is the recently released trailer for "Obonsam Besu" (Devil May Cry), a movie made for Ghanian television. It features, among other things, a woman being sucked into a television, a naked-CGI-devil-thing leaping out of the ground and hitting someone over the head, what appears to be an overweight Sith lord, the world's worst CGI Lion and, in what is pretty much my favorite scene from any trailer ever, a magical flying mallet smashing a woman in the face, all intercut with the occasional Benny Hillesque chase scene.

The trailer seems to borrow nothing from Capcom's venerable series save the title. That being said, it's not like Ghanaian movies haven't borrowed from popular video games before. [http://youtu.be/aLefuz9dIqw]

Actually this looks like it is so bad and deliberately comical that it will be awesome, Ninja theory's take on the other hand has no excuse just offers a guy who looks like an emo instead of the demon fighting rock star (not literally) we know and love.

This...I think I'd get more enjoyment out of this horrible movie than I would out of a horrible game that rapes the original franchise.

Not really. I think this trailer looks better. I would play the shit out of this trailer if it was a game. I don't think you'd ever find a programmer with the sort of moon skills that could do this trailer justice and I don't think you'd ever want to, but still... I'm in awe.

I probably love bad movies way too much though...

The sad part is this seems actually more like Devil May Cry then the new Devil May Cry, although i still suspect this is just a movie that just has the name 'devil may cry' rather then any ties to the game series from what's been seen.
