So I have a choice to watch two films

This one or the new Twilight movie with the female friend.
eeer.... Choices choices. I think Devil May Cry will win. (cuz I dislike twilight to the core)

Devil May Cry is an awesome game, but it's not the type of game that lends itself to becoming a movie. The plot is very bare-bones (Dante goes into a possessed island, progressing through levels while killing monsters), and the cast is very small - Dante is alone most of the time. That can occasionally work (I Am Legend), but it's very hard.

In order to make a DMC game, you would have to write something drastically different from the game. At that point, you're basically writing a weird combination of Silent Hill and Constantine.

Actually this looks like it is so bad and deliberately comical that it will be awesome, Ninja theory's take on the other hand has no excuse just offers a guy who looks like an emo instead of the demon fighting rock star (not literally) we know and love.

So even though Ninja Theory have declared they are taking the series in a different direction it still hurts that much? Something as little as changing the appearance of a character means you rate it lower than this minute video.

Would it have helped if he wasn't called Dante?

This...I think I'd get more enjoyment out of this horrible movie than I would out of a horrible game that rapes the original franchise.

Regarding the trailer: $100 budget movies are always good for a laugh.

Huh, you've got me there, to be honest most of the change to his style doesn't bother me that me, mainly its his hair.

As for how much I'd care if it wasn't Dante I'm not sure, I don't know how much attention I'd even give the game were it not for the fact it was a Devil May Cry game.

I'd also like to point out the only reason I'm interested in the movie is that it looks so bad and goofy that it is good, I wouldn't be so positive about it were it not for the comedic tone, if it looked just bad bad I wouldn't have posted my initial comment

Yeah, how dare they do something completely different with a character and franchise that will remain completely unchanged regardless of what the latest installment does. Or have I missed the part where Ninja Theory announced that they would manipulate time and space to erase old Dante from existence?

I'm not begrudging them for doing it and they have every right to, I'm not saying that they shouldn't have done it merely that it doesn't match up with my interests and so I haven't paid much attention to the game. My rejection of it is "fair enough but not my thing" instead of "how dare you!"

Funny since recently Korey and Co-Host from Spill.com talked about the movie 2016 which is also from Ghana as well.

The DMC movie trailer is no exception to the unintentionally WTF funny movies that Ghana has to offer. Makes me want to watch it on that basis alone.

Anyway, it made me laugh, but I don't know if I should chuckle at its nonsense or be slightly offended about the fact that one of my favorite series just got raped. Yet again (I'm looking at you, NT).

By the way, yes, I'm gonna play DmC. I just hate to see cool, ol' Dante looking all emo. But I also wanna play the game to see if it compensates for that.

Where you are correct that I haven't played the game the "facelift" aint the problem (seriously are you that dense to think people are upset over his look? By chance is your name Tameem?) My problem is they've changed the story, attitude and feeling of DMC. DMC 1-4 trailers never had me feel like the game was going be a slow and lame hack n slash with a love story tie-in. They could give him blue hair for all I care aslong as he retains the badass, humorous, egotistical bastard that he is. Sorry Dante was never part angel >.>

The game has a 99% chance of sucking balls, with a 1% of being so bad its funny and worth the 1$ rent.
