Steam Summer Sale Goes Live

In case you weren't paying attention the first time I said it, the Steam Summer Sale is live!

The truth is that there's not much more to say than that. Although it's a bit behind schedule, the Steam Summer Sale is now alive and kicking, so you should probably head over there and see what's up. But since I have space to fill, here's a tiny preview of what's in store:

Legend of Grimrock - 60 percent off, making it $5.99
Modern Warfare 3 - half-price, which means it's now $29.99
Portal 2 - 75 percent off, leaving it at $4.99 - that's five bucks for Portal 2, people
Portal, for those who are really behind the times, is also 75 percent off - $2.49!
Divine Divinity - 33 percent off, dropping it to a stupidly cheap $3.99
Hard Reset Extended Edition - 75 percent off, taking it to an everything-explodes $3.75
X Superbox - 50 percent off, which means $19.99 for enough hardcore space exploration to keep you busy until you die!

There are publisher packages on sale as well, and new daily deals happening every day from now through July 22. And yes, the above list does tend to reflect my own personal interests and tastes in gaming, but so what? It's the Steam Summer Sale, which means that no matter what you're into, you're going to be able to find at least two deals that knock your socks off. Clean off!

Store.steampowered.com [http://store.steampowered.com/], people. Wallets at the ready. Let's do this thing.

Ahhh Steam, the most beloved of DRM.
Well there goes some money I was saving. Not much since these sales are great, but there it goes.

Would be nice if the steam store wasn't overloaded and unavailable...
Indeed, just tried having a look to the other bundles available and got the same message.

and predictibly, the servers crashed. No wonder they are sceptical on cloud gaming. If they went head long into it they would need servers that could rival the government's.

Sounds nice, shame I can't fucking buy anything because as normal valve has spent all the massive piles of money they made on hookers and cocaine instead of severs that can actually handle above average traffic.

Question about Arkham City: I know GFWL is needed for online play, but can I just not log on and play it offline?
Resolved. Time to get the wallet out.

Dang it, I was saving to get a TB hard drive for my projects and College. And I've got no way of taking out the money. Why Steam!? Why must you have good deals!?

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Aww, I'm disappointed it doesn't look like there is a big achievement event this time.

I hear Valve pulled a Diablo 3, What is it with Developers NOT wanting customers to play games?
A Diablo 3 would require always-on DRM, something Valve does not do.

I see Might and Magic Heroes VI is on sale. Now THERE is a worthy game.

P.S. Thanks

I think this is where I look at my wallet and start giggling madly.

Also, if you can put up with having to reload pages all the time, you can currently get through. It's a pain in the ass but it's not like the servers are completely non functional.

...

The Steam Summer Sale would start on that day I send in my laptop for repairs.

Well, at least I'll be saving some money I suppose.

This is great, because I'm out of work for the next two weeks with a sprained knee... on the other hand, this is bad because I'm out of work for the next two weeks with a sprained knee.
