League of Legends Latest Cinematic Is a Jinx Music Video

League of Legends dev Riot Games sure know how to hype a new champion...

League of Legends developer Riot Games is starting to build a Jinx, The Loose Cannon [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124352-New-League-of-Legends-Cinematic-Twists-Fate]. With a catchy tune and plenty of explosions, it sure is an extravagant way to promote a single new champion!

The cinematic uses this somewhat odd, yet aesthetically pleasing style of mixing 3D models with anime-like effects. The song itself has a very "Pink" feel about it, which is pretty fitting to Jinx's character. In the video, she wreaks havoc in Piltover, the steampunk hometown of Caitlyn and Vi.

Unfortunately, Jinx spends most of the video fighting (or rather, slaughtering) random robot droids, and no other champions appear. It would have been cool to see Jinx and Vi have a cinematic showdown...

The song was composed by Agnete Kjølsrud from the band Djerv, and you can download it for free from sound cloud [https://soundcloud.com/leagueoflegends/get-jinxed].

Jinx doesn't have an official release date yet, but we can probably expect her to launch in the next (or the next next) big League of Legends patch.

Actually there are a shortage of AD carries compared to the amount of bruisers, mages, junglers etc. I'm disappointed that she's an ADC myself but there is a shortage.

um... Kayle? Diana? Annie (child but still)? Karma? Lux? Quinn? Vi? Sejuani (at least post-change)? Lulu? Poppy? Vayne? Leona? Fiora? Irelia? All of them are well dressed.

Hell even a lot of the other champions, Riven, Syndra, LeBlanc, Kat... Aren't even that badly covered.

There's an ocean of adcs compared to things that don't go "boom boom damage" like singed, pre-ruination karma or ali.
They keep talking about how they are trying to innovate and push boundaries with each new champ but it ain't really happening an awful lot.

Dude, what are you even talking about? Lux. Quinn. Updated Sejuani. Vi. Riven. Vayne. Leona. Yeah, there are some fan-servicey characters as well, but there are plenty of modest-looking female champions in the League.

Unless your argument is about the practicality of the clothes (aka the boob plate argument), in which case, you're arguing a position that is logical, albeit misguided.

I don't get your gripe, what exactly do you want? The fact of the matter is there are not a lot of adc's and competitively it's even less as ezreal, caitlyn and vayne are about the only champions that are safe competitive picks.

You are actually wrong, factually wrong dude. I finally got tired of all the posts whining about adc's in league getting too much love and how they overwhelm everyone else in numbers and that is a straight up lie. I just took the time to count out every champion ive seen in each lane/role and top, jung and mid each have 23-30 champions that fill the roles, while true adc's there are only 13 or so. If anything, support needs some love even after they added thresh and his insanely powerful kit. So sick of people throwing out baseless complaints about league. It is not perfect, but at least nitpick the stuff thats actually wrong, don't just make things up.


Back on point, the song is pretty catchy and I am looking forward to trying jinx out, though I mostly top lane.

It doesn't matter how unique a champion is, they will be forced into a role or designed with a specific role in mind. More ADCs, while lame for non adc mains, is not a bad thing. If they just made another "unique" champion like singed it would just create another jungler or top laner and Riot obviously wants to balance the champions roles or make more competitive picks.

And to me Jinx is pretty unique. Her passive and stance swapping Q along with wall snare might make for some interesting plays. Her role may just be pew pew but she's not just a walking auto attack robot.

Dug brings up an interesting point about unique champions, and since you mentioned singed i assumed you wanted more top laners in your post whining about adcs. I looked up the release dates and the last ten champions released included: Elise, Zed, Nami, Vi, Thresh, Quinn, Zac, Lissandra, Aatrox, Lucian. I see two adcs released in the last year mate, So I am not entirely sure why you complained in your original post about another adc. You said something about an ocean of adcs right? I don't see it. Riot's pretty obviously attempting to balance out champion pools while still pleasing its player base. I think they have done reasonably well, seeing that nearly 100% of the champions released this last year have seen big use in pro play.

Every post about League someone complains about adcs, and it is really just silly. I never see people complain about more tops or mids, we need adcs and supports.

It basically boils down to this: I wish riot stopped stroking their huge boner for "aggressive gameplay" and spent more time coming up with interesting, new mechanics that are not necessarily all about loldamage but that ain't gonna happen because now, even the "supports" are supposed to deal tons of damage while heals are slowly but surely getting patched out of the game.
The last thing I knew was they were eying soraka for a possible karma treatment.

The only thing unique about him is his poison trail. It doesn't make for exciting gameplay I can tell you that much. It's unique for the sake of being unique.

Every champions is unique in their own regard. Why wouldn't you want champions that are "aggresive" in a game where the goal is to kill the opposing team and take over their base?
