350 hours is just over 2 weeks. Unless he ate, drank, slept and shat in that chair, I call bullshit on that. So we know that the one sitting thing is bullshit.
So now I call bullshit on the 350 hours things. 24, sure why not? 48, eh seems a little unlikely but alright. 72, hell maybe he's a modern day Richard Dadd. 350? No. Fuck you.

I wonder how much they paid the artist for 350 hours of painting, which is essentially over two months of full-time work.

Oh yeah. Because shooters never [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_4_dead], ever [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brink_(video_game)] innovate...
Yeah! Innovation is best left to RPGs [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XIII]!

I hope you guys are kidding. The real innovation comes from the MMO genre.

Am I supposed to interpret "single sitting" to mean that the poor bastard painting that thing didn't sleep for... *does some quick math* more than two solid weeks?

And if so, am I supposed to believe it? 'CAUSE I DON'T.

Anyway, it's gorgeous. And silly. And there are no tits. Why aren't there tits?

When it's the Duke, you can do anything

Sold for charity? So, auctioned for charity, if you will? People will be betting on Duke? As a Duke?

Damn. This guy played it well.

Might be me, but I'm getting the definite impression that perspective here is a bit screwy - he isn't at a right angle with the floor.

It took 350 hours AND a single sitting... I'm willing to bet both statements are outright lies because it makes far more sense to just make up a bizarre and impossible story behind this piece.

Now this is art!
I imidiatly thought of that picture when I saw the Duke painting. Same technical skill level, but with absolutely no sense of composition.
Although... that may be the point? *shrug*

Most time involved piece of duke art? His final 3D model took 10 years :D.

I love how Duke Nukem Forever is such a tale of myth and legend that even people who've never heard of the guy are getting excited!

Haha, classic. It's certainly more awesome than the royal wedding, but then so is the anthill in my back yard.

Actually it could have been done in a single sitting within the time frame of 350 hours. Maybe this siting included some breaks or long rest periods and not all those 350 hours were spent with paintbrush to board.

I must say that the difference in perspective between Duke, and the background and its objects is rather, special. I'm sure it happened because he's the Duke and he gets to do that sort of thing, the horizon line shifted for him as to adequately show off his crotch area.

Wait, Left 4 Dead was innovative?

Having only played it in mini-parties on Splitscreen on my friend's Xbox (and having awesome fun), I guess I have only myself to blame for not noticing this. But as a genuine question, how is it different to normal zombie shooter games?

OT: 350 hours in one sitting... IZ NOT POSSIBLE. I am not believing it. Fucking awesome painting, though.

That's...uh...that's actually kind of a mediocre painting. The perspective's off, the lighting's flat and directionless, the guns look half-rendered, and Duke himself looks kind of like an inflatable doll. The average denizen of conceptart.org could crank out something like this in 5-6 hours. They might have commissioned a slightly more talented artist.

"2K Games and Gearbox want Duke Nukem fans to know that Duke Nukem Forever will finally be released soon through any means possible."

Except by actually releasing the early preview to the Borderlands customers who were promised it...

I agree, it's a nice idea, but a RUBBISH painting, the perspective is crap and it's clearly cobbled together from a bunch of photographs.
