Twilight Sequel Breaks Records

New Moon, the sequel to the vampire teen romance movie Twilight, has had a record breaking opening.

New Moon, the second movie to be based on Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series has broken the record for midnight openings in North America previously held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, taking over $26 million at box offices, compared to $22 million for Harry Potter.

Experts predict that New Moon, which again stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, will make nearly $100 million dollars in the USA and Canada over the weekend, one of the biggest opening weekends for a non-summer film. The current record for an opening weekend is The Dark Knight, which made nearly $160 million in July last year.

The ONLY reason the original made 350 some million is that no one knew how terrible the movie was when it first came out, so a lot more people saw it then will see this one. And all the negative press will mean that even people that saw and sorta liked the first one won't bother seeing the sequel.

I bet this one makes 150 total, 3 makes 100 and 4 makes less than 50

something between 'Cinematic' and 'Compelling'.
It was a decent movie, kept me interested, worst part was the adverts before the movie. adverts were 40 mins long. worst of the adverts was a perfume one that was nearly pornography. disgusting.
