5 For $5 Indie Bundle Better Than Buying Socks

Why buy a pack of tube socks when you could get 5 great indie games instead?

Cookies go a long way at The Escapist. Jorge Rodriguez, president of Lunar Workshop, once dropped off a package of cookies at Escapist HQ in exchange for an article on his indie title Digitanks. It worked [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/109760-Yes-We-Really-Can-Be-Bribed-With-Cookies]. Now, Rodriguez has put together a super-cheap indie bundle that includes Digitanks, and we may or may not be mentioning it here because of the memory of those delicious cookies.

Cookies or no cookies, a good deal is a good deal. The bundle packages together 5 indie games for $5. It includes Digitanks, an artillery-based strategy game where players build an army of tanks, Spring Up Harmony, a colorful physics-based action-puzzler, Mactabilis, an HD shooter that features RPG customization of your ship, Steel Storm: Burning Retribution, a top-down shooter that takes place in an alternate universe, and Delve Deeper, a fantasy adventure/strategy game that looks something like a side-scrolling Dungeon Keeper [http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/dungeon_keeper].

The bundle features no DRM and all proceeds go directly to the developers. They're only asking for a buck each, which is pretty damn nice. Or, you could go spend your $5 on new socks. Up to you.

The bundle can be purchased here [http://www.buygamesnotsocks.com/] until the end of July 3, 2011.

I would, but only one game is available for OSX and there is no Steam Support. Sorry Indie Game developers, but I wouldn't be able to play your games :(

That sounds awesome! Though I've never heard of the games, before I download would someone that have played them give me a recommendation?

I happen to fucking love socks.

On the other hand, this sounds pretty good, too.

even for five dollars I don't think I'd bother, none of the games look particularly interesting and I downloaded steel storm for free somewhere and hated it. Looks like someone's trying to cash in on the successful indie bundles with this cheap rip off.
from all the trailers I've seen nothing that's that more advanced than I can play in a browser :/

My pocket change!
Take it! Take it all!

Also, does that mean that I can bribe the Escapsit with cookies?

That reminds me, I gotta wash all my socks (they have been stinking up my closet lol).

I may as well take a look at these titles.

Well I have been thinking about purchasing at least two of those off of steam for some time now.
So yea.

Take the money! TAKE IT ALL!

Delve deeper is quite a fun strategy game. Especially if youve got some friends that are into turn based strategy.

Not had any experience with the rest though

Finally!
Somebody else who shares my anti-sock views!
Down with the tyranny of socks, we have lived in feet-fluff fear for too long!
Oh yeah, the games look good to...
