Question of the Day, October 7, 2010

During a book signing in Oregon, Mexican film director and writer Guillermo del Toro stated that videogames were the "comic books of our time" and a "narrative art form." If del Toro were to try his hand at the art form, which movie of his would you want turned into a videogame?

Cronos. I want to free-roam as a kickass grandpa vampire. Or Ron Perlman. That's always good.

It could certainly be a fire under the ass of point-and-click adventure games.

I think that Hellboy would make the best game. Pan's Labyrinth would be my favorite movie on the list, but I could only imagine it looking like a Harry Potter game...

Has to be Pan's Labyrinth, as a dark pseudo survival horror game. possibly as a sort of Dark Psychonauts type of game?

These are all great movies, but the problem is that they wouldn't translate well as great games. Hellboy has the best chance, however.

Pan's Labyrinth is the best of those films. But I don't really see how it could be made into a game? An adventure game maybe? But those all suck donkeys.

Guess my vote goes for Hellboy.

Didn't Hellboy already get made into a game(s)?

Anyway, I vote <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.228761-2-50-Reviews-Pans-Labyrinth-2006>Pan's Labyrinth, as it was an awesome movie.

A half-decent Hellboy game would be good. The ones that have come out so far are complete crap.

He hasn't made it yet, but his upcoming "At the Mountains of Madness" movie.

Everybody needs more Lovecraft games.

Hellboy. I'd probably buy it on launch day. That is, if it was actually decent.

Haha, I came to this thread with that exact sentence on my mind. I would love to play a Pans Labyrinth game!
