Super Mario Bros 3 closely followed by the original.

Honorable mention goes to Super Mario Sunshine because of the nostalgia... I know it's not a classic but I had to bring it up.

Yoshi's Island to me. I cannot describe how much I enjoyed it.
Played it for months in a row, doing all worlds over and over again. There are actually some levels I can 'play with my eyes closed', so many times i played it :)

I know it's a crime but... I've never like Mario at all.

I played Super Mario Bros. ALL the time when I was a kid. I only had the 1st one, so I didn't have much choice, haha. It grew on me, even though I couldn't get past the first level. (I wasn't very good at games when I was little.)

I haven't actually played much Mario games.

But I did play the hell out of Super Mario RPG. That game kicked ass.
