Mass Effect: Arrival Arrives Later This Month

Mass Effect 2 [http://masseffect.bioware.com/info/dlc/#arrival], is less than two weeks away.

I've been looking forward to Mass Effect: Arrival ever since BioWare revealed that DLC would bridge the gap [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/100807-DLC-Will-Bridge-Story-Between-Mass-Effect-2-and-3] between Mass Effect 2 and ME3, and now, finally, it's here - almost. We'll actually have to wait until March 29 for Arrival to arrive.

As hinted at by the trophies that were accidentally revealed [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/107918-Mass-Effect-2-Patch-on-PS3-Reveals-New-DLC] on the PlayStation 3 in February, Arrival will see Commander Shepard and his crew traveling to the very edge of the galaxy to rescue an undercover operative who may have evidence about an imminent Reaper invasion. "Mass Effect: Arrival is an exciting extension to Mass Effect 2 and will show players just how close the Reapers are to returning and completing their deadly harvest," said Mass Effect Executive Producer Casey Hudson.

As an added bonus, Lance Henriksen [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000448/], the man who can turn crap into gold just by showing up, will return to play a "prominent role" as Admiral Hackett, the faceless voice of the Human Systems Alliance. Mass Effect: Arrival will sell for 560 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360, 560 BioWare Points on the PC and $6.99 on the PlayStation 3.

Fantastic. I'll be at home and have access to my 360 by then. Can't wait to play it, especially after how good Lair of the Shadow Broker was.

Cool, I'll be getting this.

Kinda late to the ME2 DLC except for the free DLC and collectors edition DLC I got, but is the Lair of the Shadowbroker worth the money?

I am so pumped for this. Even though I hardly play many games anymore these days, I still will drop everything at a moment's notice to do more Mass Effect gaming.

Hope it is decently long for 7 bucks. Granted biowares dlc has gotten much better since me1 (when they farmed it out to another company) nevermind the great "bridge" dlc for me1 that bridged absolutely nothing.

Lair of the Shadow Broker is arguably the best mission out of the entire series, and I don't say that lightly. Everything, from the artistic design to the voice acting was ratcheted up to 11 for that DLC.

Worth every penny.

I'll have to check if I have enough points then to get both Broker and Arrival later on :3

Yes. If you so much as interacted with Liara, Barla Von, or wondered what your other teammates were doing while you were blowing up collectors, then you need Shadow Broker.

OT - Cannot wait for this.

If I have to punch a damn space ogre again I'll be very disappointed.

Still, Hackett makes me happy, it'll be interesting to see what role he plays.

Not sure about this. I want something like LotSB for this final offering, but the price just doesn't add up. I'd want to be pumped up until ME3.

Yes I've been looking forward to this and Fallout New Vegas's Honest Hearts, And I'm actually very happy with the price. With all of the BS going on into DLC now days. Does anyone actually stop and think before they buy the Call of Duty Black Ops Map pack? Its $15! Thats $3 per map- and 90% of the people are only getting it for the zombies anyways. If I wasnt breaking up the cost for it with friends, I sure as hell would not be buying it.

I wish they still did proper expansions for games. Since I don't have my ME2 saves anymore, It would be a drag to start it again just so I can see how the game ends for reals this time.

$7 is 1/10th the price I paid for the Collector's Edition, but I have the feeling this will not have 1/10th the content. While I don't mind DLC (except for what's on disc or day/week 1 DLC), I can't defend their pricing. This sort of thing feels more like wallet pecking than valuable added content.

Did anyone else hear angels sing when they read this?
Pretty much.... I missed hearing Lance Henricksen in ME2.

I haven't touched Mass Effect for almost a year now... When ME3 draws closer, Hopefully all the of ME2 DLC will be out and I'll just have myself a full on Mass Effect beat off... must be patient.

ME 2 did end. This is more like the beginning of ME3 from what I heard.

And, don't forget, it has Liara. And discovering who/what is the Shadow Broker.

You know, I really feel like the shadow broker DLC was well worth the money. If this is bigger and better than that, the I belive it will be worth the money too.
