Here's eight of the worst games in history.
Welp, looks like somebody here needs a history lesson because from what I see only one game here deserves its place on the list. Worst games of all time? Hah! You can see games far, far worse with far less quality in them put out on Steam every freaking day.
I know gallery of the day ain't exactly priority content and making them daily can get tiresome. But this one was just lazy.
Also: typo on the Daikatana page, "phenominal" instead of "phenomenal".
Also, there was a half-decent Superman game, Death and Return of Superman for Sega Mega Drive by Blizzard.

Obligatory E.T. on the list.

There's a lot of terrible games that deserve to be on this list. Predator: Concrete Jungle and Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi both come to mind.

I think that we need to make a list of games that should've been great, but just weren't. Games like Destiny and Advent Rising.

To be fair, if they were including Steam Greenlight Garbage then the list would be comprised of BS that no one's ever heard of...and rightfully so. :p

There's actually a reason that Predator: Concrete Jungle wasn't on the list. And that's because it was actually...you know...good. :p

I won't say it's the best use of the property and there was room for improvement, however saying it was "terrible" is a bit of a stretch.

Disclaimer: I fully admit that if there's one thing I'm a fanboy of, it's Predators. :p

OP: Now I'm not going to come here and say that DNF was an award winning game, and I'm not even going to say "it got a bad rap". All I'll say is that to those who actually bought the game (I only rented it) and were disappointed, you've only yourselves to blame. DNF was exactly what it said on the tin: a Duke Nukem game. That meant it was going to be as immature as it could possibly be, nothing but big tits and fart jokes as far as the eye can see and very little else (in terms of gameplay/story/aesthetics/etc). If you expected something more than that then...well...as the saying goes: A Fool And Their Money Will Soon Be Parted.

Just because Duke Nukem 3D had cussing and strippers doesn't mean it was a good game, and that's the jump-off point for DNF.

Master of Orion 3. The undisputed worst strategy game of all time. It would have killed the franchise id the World of Tanks people hadn't made boatloads of money to let them reboot it. There is no better example of how not to do a sequel.

Honestly, I don't think Colonial Marines was that bad. Junk compared to the potential, sure, but it still had fun moments.
Like fething over your team-mates during co-op play on the sewer level.

It's about time for a reboot of E.T. isn't it?

Dungeon Keeper mobile? For i hear it went and whore'd itself out, compared to the original.

No Ride to Hell? Or Silent hill pachinko machine?

I actually liked Colonial Marines...

That aside, I'm surprised at some of the entries. Or at least, I'm left to ask where Ride to Hell: Retribution or Postal 3 are, among others.

I haven't played Aliens: Colonial Marines and wouldn't particularly care to, even if it was amazing; it's just not my type of game. But I was under the impression that the lawsuit was more about the dishonest advertising and bullshots than just "we don't like this game", although that was undoubtedly the crux of their motivation.

Unpopular opinion: I think Duke Nukem Forever gets an undue bad rap due to simply how long it was stuck in development hell.

I strongly disagree with the inclusion of aliens colonial marines and duke nukem forever on this list. No more, no less. The guy who writes these doesn't read my comments.

Hey, I'm playing through Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis...well, Aquaman (I'm playing the Xbox version) and it's not...I mean...I've played MUCH worse games. Then again, I can agree with the list in that I consider Sonic 06 much more fun than Aquaman. I'm also going to assume that Joe Bazookakid on the PSX and Revolution X on the SNES and PSX are also considered masterpieces compared to Aquaman.

It's not great but I've been playing a lot of it lately, I'd put it on part with Half-life 2 in its mediocrity.

OT: Front Mission Evolved could go on the list, sure it's functional but it was $50 for a 4 hour campaign that barely gave me enough money to customize one wanzer. In the previous games you had a whole squad you could fit any way you wanted. The transition from turn based games to a third person shooter was another awful decision.

Another list that feels it should be retired unless you're bringing new stuff to the foray. Some of those aren't even that bad, so much as bad for the time and the hype. DNF's largest problem was less the game than it was a shooter far outstripped by other games over its development cycle.

I mean, just as a few bad examples:

Swordquest (Atari 2600) - Known for the big unfinished contest, the games themselves are a kind of tedium no one should suffer. Put the objects in the correct rooms in increasing order of complexity. (the first one was 16 items correctly placed in 12 rooms with o mistakes and no clues as to what went where.) More tedius than ET and far more complex.

Dragon's Lair (NES): Unless he was doing a themed retrospective, the AVGN did his best to cover as much of a game as possible, beating many outright unplayable ones. The fact he never got more than the second screen in Dragon's lair is testament to it's level of shit.

Bill and Ted's Excelent Adventure: I own this one and it's the only game I wouldn't consider re-buying on virtual console. Find items by jumping in rocks and other placed you can't walk and avoid villagers. It's just the most unfun thing I've played.

Leisure Suit Larry: Box office Bust: No one expects much froma game desiged to be 13 year old's idea of raunchy fun, but the game didn't even have that, leaving us with a crappy sandbox with very bad olision detection, unosable dating sime mini games, and a hunt for statues with no incentive to finish.

Mortal Kombat Special Forces: You ever have that game you rented with high hopes, brought ti home, realized it was garbage quickly, but still kept playing to avoid a wasted weekend and $5. This was one of mine. I know I beat it, but I've repressed the whole thing.

Oh, if you want a decent superman game, try the Genesis platformer. It's shot and kind of difficult, but it's you know, playable. The beat em up based on the death and return also wasn't bad.

But could you die another way, or did you break the system?

I'd be dead on arrival if I didn't pick a good day to die hard another day, anyway... Might as well live free or die hard trying...

Yeah, it wasn't a good game because of cussing and strippers. It was a good game because it was *actually bloody good*. It had fun enemies to fight, sprawling huge levels with innovatively realistic design (which was really fresh after the abstract levels of shooters of the era) and an arsenal that was both classic and new with both usual suspects like pistol, shotgun, RPG, etc present and guns that were never seen before like the Shrinker or the Freezethrower. Oh, and the music? Yeah, the music also was good. So yeah. Duke Nukem 3D was a good game, a damn good one. And THAT is a jump-off point for DNF.

What? DNF must be good, if Yahzee thinks so:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/748-Duke-Nukem-Forever

But I need a definition of "bad". I still think LoL is basically the worst MOBAs out there but millions are playing it...
