9 is am upcoming CGI movie being produced by the, in my opinion, genius Tim Burton. The movie's plot sounds dreadfully stupid on paper, but judging from the trailer, is extremely well executed.

You can find the trailer here [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnoJecu9e7c]

Feel free to leave comments about this movie here.

Honestly, my only thought was that this looked like the back story to Little Big Planet. That or Sack Boy: The Movie, which would be awesome.

Looks way too action-y for me to properly portray a post-apocalyptic scenario for me. Additionally, the character designs are just weird.

Tim Burton, however, suggests promise; I'll just have to wait and see.

I saw it in the theaters, along with G.I. Joe, Transformers 2, and other explosion-stuffed movies. I don't why "9" has explosions too, but I think I'm being way too judgmental.

I'm not gonna lie. When I saw this thread's title, I thought someone had made a really dumb post about something random. Boy, am I glad I was wrong.

I saw the short when it first came out. I must say, I am sad that there are voices in the movie, but I am glad it is being made.

I have to admit; if there is one thing I like about Tim Burton, it's that all of his creations have a very unique and distinctive art style.

About the actual trailer, well I really don't know what to say. It looked like Fallout with people made from burlap sacks.

The first trailer for a movie never really shows anything significant. As usual, I will wait til I learn more about the movie before passing judgment.

I don't see why someone has to use rock and roll to defeat their enemies, but I'm checking that out, too.

Expect weird from Tim, but also expect quality work.

I remember a few years ago when there was a small short concerning these sack people right before some Pixar/Dream Works 3D film. So glad they are making a movie out of it. Cant wait.

I was already clued in via a trailer I saw when I went to see Terminator Salvation, but I understand how the title could be misconstrued.

It looks interesting. Burton always has neat ideas: it's his execution that can be iffy. We shall see.

Hmmm. It does look quite good actually, though I'm at loss for what the plot is.

Barren wastes, protecting the future, the number nine? Is that about it?

For the most part, I have to agree with you. However, I do give him respect for pretty much making the first comic book superhero movie that was actually good (Batman).

Call me a pessimist, but Burton's most recent track-record is a shadow of what it was 5 or so years ago in my opinion. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride and Sweeney Todd were all major disappointments to me. Compare them with Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas or Big Fish. They're on two completely seperate sides of the brilliance scale.

Plus this has Elijah Wood's voice in it. Last time he was voicing a CGI character, it was Happy Feet. And that was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

On the plus side, the short film was brilliantly atmospheric and I fell head-over-heels for it the first time I saw it. It had the same sort of visual charm that Burton's famous for. I still hope the film does well, and I look forward to seeing it. There's the niggling doubt in the back of my mind, though, that Burton and Wood's previous offerings will make themselves known at some point.
