Well, my mom's fine about it.

Now I'm just wondering about my dad.
Good for you. It takes real courage to admit to something like that, and building a foundation of lies like many people here suggested would only make the inevitable 'coming out' much more shocking or disappointing for your parents.

The only thing I'm thinking right now is that they may be concerned with the fact that it was furry-oriented. To someone who doesn't understand what it is, they might begin to have assumptions that you're into bestiality. Which, you know... is illegal and morally compromising.

Normally I'd suggest own up to it, but thirteen years old and fringe sexual interests (furry).. You're probably going to be seeing a therapist until your parents are convinced there's nothing wrong with you. Doesn't really help that homosexuality's already seen by many as deviancy, but it's likely the least of worrisome thing in this case.

Fact is, minor accessing 'adult' material stands a real chance of putting your parents in trouble far more than you. I doubt it'd be much of a consolation, but arguing that rather than being interested in the sexual assault, degradation, privacy violation, or worse stuff you're only interested in the consentual (if not eyebrow-raising) stuff is small consolation, if only to yourself. On second thought, acknowledging the existence of it could work against you.

Best just to own up to who you are, denial never helps, especially as long-term evidence would eventually just prove hyporcrisy. Being closeted and trying to play the lie and denial cards only builds up the level of infuriation and feelings of betrayal, if the studies I've read on when people come out holds any merit. Besides, doesn't help a person's self esteem to be liked as a lie instead of accepted for who they actually are.

Emphasis on the NEVER Unless, for some reason, your parents are okay with you watching porn, do not save it. It will get you in more trouble and is more of a hassle then just looking the video/picture up again.

But OT: I think you should just tell the truth. They will find out your intrests someday.

Tell them the truth it shouldn't be too hard. I speak from experience, I told my parents I was bi and they were okay with it. Why wouldn't your Dad be okay with it?

The hardest part about being a furry...

alright I won't say it. But its so tempting. What you should do is not make a bi deal out of the furry shit, but try to see how they stand on the gay thing. If they're conservative religious people then just deny being gay and say you were curious. Yeah it doesn't sound like the best idea but really your parents most likely won't change their stance on it so you might as well not do this to them.

Say that you're trying to be an artist and that it's reference material, you know, anatomy. Besides, I would be peeved that they snooped in my personal stuff when I was gone.

That could be the problem...

You're thirteen and have porn on your phone?

Actually, you have a phone? Does everyone have one?

But here's the rule of porn: You never save it. EVER. Not on your computer, game systems, or phones, it's asking to be discovered!

For a solution: Well, shit, I got nothing. Telling them you're gay is a good foot to start on, but apologize, a lot, for porn.
It's all good if it's in a passworded .rar archive!

OT: I'd ask them to sit down and have a bit of a chat with them just to clear things up if I were you.

Wow, I actually laughed at that one. Ahhh, the stupidity of internet memes :D and... Starwars... Don't hit me...

Hmmm, well, the thing is that you father would do the exact same thing as you did if he could at 13... (except perhaps the gays and furries) if he had the technology we had these days. Just ask him what he was doing and thinking at your age. But no, it was not smart to save your pornography to a media device, let alone share it with your parents.

It's perfectly natural...
again, except perhaps the furries... ew...

Weren't hidin' yo pronz good enough I see. My pronz folder is hidden within the config files of one of my most obscure games, and I called it "excess config cache" (it may not make sense, but most people wouldn't give it a second glance)

Give him time. Dads get a little silly about there sons breeding prospects. After time he will accept it.

Tell them it was a computer virus that got onto the camera when you downloaded your pictures/videos from it. Tell them you have never seen them before in your life.
Hard to do when you have over 200 pictures, several videos, and all in seperate folders.

Also, it wasn't a phone. It was a cheap but effective ripoff of an ipod.
Its called an MP3 player, not an iPod ripoff, for starters.

For seconds: kids find out they're gay at 13 now? When did this happen? When I was a kid, you had to wait until at least 17 (At which point, you should have fondled a breast at least once. I believe in the boob test for sexuality).

For third: Stupid move on your part.

For finishers: Man up and tell them. They're your parents... even if you lie and they let it slide, they still are going to suspect you for the rest of your life. Might as well get this over with.

While I was at school, my parents found some incriminating evidence on my video player.
See, I haven't told them I'm gay (or my other interests), and the items my player contained had some... unsavory images, most of them furry art. Now I'm wondering what to do, as my father sounds literally weak from the discovery. Anyone have any tips?

Note that I'm thirteen.
Ummm... I don't know, is your father relatively open minded?

I mean, porn is porn, the fact that you're gay shouldn't matter too much, as for the porn you watch, well can't really blame you for that shit I don't think.
