A game about a penguin with a banjo?
It stars Penguin the penguin, a traveling minstrel who wondered out of Antarctica one day to brighten the hearts of his fellow man and banish daemons with the power of positive vibes. Daemons, being manifestations of humanity's negative attributes, can only be threatened by positivity. The game, despite having a lush, vibrant color palette, will get very dark as daemons graphically devour entire families in front of Penguin, who must maintain his stalwart optimism (mechanically similar to sanity meters) in order to survive.
Mechanically, I see this game as a not-statistic-based open-world action RPG. If on a console, each of the four face buttons will be used to play different notes which can be strung together in a chord (combo) to activate special effects. The land will be mostly barren with a few struggling towns each of which are populated exclusively by fully-interactive characters each possessing a relatively nuanced dialogue tree. Penguin the penguin will be partially his own character and partially alterable by the player.
If only I knew a thing about game design, I'd be making this right-fucking-now.
