No, actually. You are now an obsolete tool in Rapture which seems to have been given an upgrade. You are in the prototypes stage while everyone else is 4.0. In the first game you were a god among men. Genetically and physically advanced and Rapture was you screaming little *****, plaything, and toy to play with. So taking a step back you will see that the Original (or prototype) big daddy would be more vulnerable than being Jack in the first game.
Well from where I see it you can dual wield plasmids and shotguns and you also have a drill which is almost like a one shot kill.

Didn't we rescue or kill all the little sisters? I mean it was a major part of the game. Hell I'm fairly sure all of Rapture was killed or driven insane via mind control.
I think that the game assumes that you had the good ending, because one preview I read said that Jack left with all the sisters. AS for the other point, apparently they weren't.

ya! any way, sounds fun and the story looks on par with the first, just one thing, how has anyone not heard of this? its been in the news a few times here at the escapist so I'm sure most people have heard your a big daddy and about the big sister. still looks awesome thought.
The search bar only showed threads relating to box art and special editions and such, couldn't see any with gameplay information.
guess your right, it isn't any ware to be found with the search bar. geuss I know more I do read gaming magazines that aren't the escapist, but only for the news I swear!

Will there be a multiplayer game type where the Big Daddies develop superiority complexes an prove who are the bigger men by comparing who can "Drill" the most big sisters? The scenario practically creates itself. My entendres come in twos.

Hm, health regeneration - I actually like that idea, but maybe that's just because I'm becoming more and more use to it being in games. I personally can't wait for this game, the idea of playing as a Big Daddy sounds amazing; it'll add a whole new feel from the previous game

This is the first trailer I've seen of this game, and it makes me wonder if 2K may have missed the point with this second installment. Why make the player a Big Daddy? If they're not careful with this they might end up sucking all the tension out of the experience, which is one of the most vital aspects of Bioshock.

This is a prequel.

*EDIT* wait.... It's not? How the hell are you play as the first big daddy then?

Delta, the OG Big Daddy, is "reactivated" at the start of BioShock 2. He's been out of commission for at least ten years it seems after some tragic incident involving his Little Sister.
The MP mode takes place one year before the events of the first game, providing the prequel hook.

Most of this "news" is not news at all. Most of it has been released already. But at least you show interest.

Always good to see someone who's done their research. :)

OP: As you may have guessed I've seen all these videos (And more) regarding this game and I can safely say that BioShock 2 will be as good, if not better, than the original.

I know that I'm not the only one that hates the idea of playing as a Big Daddy. It sort of... ruins the whole idea of the first game. It doesn't make any sense. Of course I'm still getting it so I can continue the story but playing as a Big Daddy means you're less vulnerable, less tense, less sense. Also, regenerating health only makes sense. It's better than Vita-Chambers, I tell you what.
he didn't really say the first big daddy is more like a prototype big daddy (not a [prototype] big daddy mind you) so you're character is alot more human than the ones from the first game. Also the girls are less monstrous on account of them being girls from the surface recently indoctrinated into the little sister ways.

Think we are a Big Daddy because lots of people wanted to have the drill in the first game... at least I did. But I think they will keep the tension with the random Big Sister attacks.
